6 months almost passed since the reboot second season aired in Italy.

%%* Caleb from the reboot's second season has a mixed reception. There is one half of viewers who think Caleb now has a more fleshed out character compared to the first, where he was just a SacrificialLamb to prove how strategic Bowie was. Caleb's fans are also glad he never became another manipulative MrFanservice and shown genuine feelings for Priya. The other half believes that unlike past early boots such as Ezekiel, B, Tyler, Eva, and The Tennis Rivals who all are considered to have potential only to have them squandered, Caleb isn't believed to have much going for him outside of his crush on Priya, to the point where they consider he spends too much of his screentime with her and is a nobody without her. They also dislike how UnintentionallyUnsympathetic he can come off at times concerning his interaction with Priya and wanting to play a good game despite doing some questionable things.

%%* Julia after the second season. One half enjoy her antagonistic nature from the first season while the other dislike her off-screen handling of the eliminations and how overpowered she's become to the point of being a CreatorsPet.

%% * Nichelle is one of the more controversial characters of the reboot. Her haters claim that she's a bland and undeveloped movie star character and her [[TookALevelInBadass taking a level in badass]] in the second season made her come off as too flawless. Her fans love her primadonna personality and wish that she would make it further in the game given her early eliminations and some sympathize with her because of her being tricked out of the game by a fake contract.
%% * Priya. Some people enjoyed her eccentric and joyful personality and over-preparation of the show and felt that [[spoiler:she deserved to win her first season]]. The other half despise her for how over-the-top she can be with her emotions when around people she's hostile towards (such as acting irrationally spiteful towards Millie in the finale). They also feel that [[spoiler: her winning was either too predictable, gave her AbusiveParents what they wanted, and/or preferred Bowie being the winner]]. The second season made her more divisive. Some find her relationship with Caleb to be making her weak, over obsessed, and unable to tap into her full potential, with others even claiming her to be [[EliminationHoudini overstaying her welcome in the season]], causing her to be seen as a [[SpotlightStealingSquad spotlight-stealing]] CreatorsPet, and others enjoy her interactions with Caleb and find them cute as a couple.
* Ripper is a character who's hated and loved for the same reasons. For half the fanbase he is nothing but an annoying misogynistic bully who calls every person who says something smart a nerd, and a fart machine who doesn't have Owen's likability to make up for it. The other half, who is willing to look past the fart jokes, finds his jerkass nature extremely funny, seeing him as the G-rated version of [[Franchise/SouthPark Eric Cartman]]. They also think he has good interactions with other characters, especially his friendship with Chase and [[EnsembleDarkhorse Zee]]. Fans and detractors alike also are willing to cut him some slack as he obliviously makes it clear he had an abusive upbringing and has no idea how unhealthy it really was. %%Him [[TookALevelInKindness Taking a Level in Kindness]] in the second part is also divisive. Some think it's a great way to flesh his character out, others feel its unearned and undeserved.%%
%%* Wayne has gained a base breaking status as of Season 2. Although loved for his dumb moments, hilarious lines, and friendship with Raj, there are some who feel like he overstayed his welcome, was made to be dumber than his first season, and lacked any plotlines other than interacting with Raj. [[spoiler: Him becoming a finalist and winning the second season made him more divisive, with one half calling him a well-deserved winner and his haters claiming that he floated throughout the whole season and didn't deserve to win and preferred Raj as the winner. Others feel that Wayne's victory would have worked better if Raj had gotten eliminated sooner, since that would have then given Wayne more time to develop as an individual]].

While the first generation cast is often considered the [[FirstInstallmentWins most iconic and most popular cast]] of the series, it does have its fair share of divisive characters, even within the series' debut season. Some previously popular characters have become unpopular in hindsight due to their actions in subsequent seasons, while some initially unpopular characters were similarly VindicatedByHistory.

* Sugar quite firmly splits the fanbase, with extreme opinions about her on both sides and surprisingly very little middle ground. There are those who find her to be extremely entertaining, funny, and a well fleshed out character with lots of depth, while her haters see her as nothing but an obvious teenaged {{Expy}} of [[Series/HereComesHoneyBooBoo Honey Boo Boo and Mama June]] who is disgusting, obnoxious, and needlessly cruel to other characters. Then there's her villainy, with one half thinking her unorthodox take as a ContrastingSequelAntagonist was refreshing and less predictable, while her detractors view her as being stupid and despise her for abusing [[EnsembleDarkhorse Ella]] as well as a poorly-written [[AssPull contrived]] means of eliminating [[spoiler:Jasmine]]. Her detractors felt that she had ''[[CreatorsPet way too much]]'' screen time, and unlike Heather in ''Island'', Justin and Courtney in ''Action'', Alejandro in ''World Tour'', or Scott in ''Revenge of the Island'', Sugar doesn't get a [[HumiliationConga painful and humiliating comeuppance]] in her elimination episode, [[KarmaHoudini practically getting off scot-free]] for her cruelty. There are just as many people vouching for her return as there are people who wish to never see her again.
