!!Other Works
* The story behind how his short story "Unicorn Variation" came to be. He was approached by an editor looking to collect works for an anthology of stories about unicorns. He was then approached by another editor compiling an anthology of stories set in bars. He told this to Creator/GeorgeRRMartin, who told him of another editor collecting works for an anthology of stories about chess. He joked that Zelanzy should write a story about unicorns and chess in a bar so that he could sell the story to all three editors. He did exactly that, and won the Hugo Award for Best Novelette for the story.

!!Other
* The story of how "Unicorn Variation" came to be written. As TheOtherWiki puts it:
--> ''"Unicorn Variation", was written as a result of Zelazny having been asked to contribute to two different upcoming anthologies — one collecting stories set in bars, and one collecting stories about unicorns. When Zelazny mentioned these requests to his close friend Creator/GeorgeRRMartin, the other told Zelazny of a third upcoming anthology — one which would collect stories about chess — and jokingly suggested that Zelazny write a story about playing chess against a unicorn in a bar, so that he could sell the story three times. Zelazny did just that and then went on to win a HugoAward for the story.''
** The comments by the editors of the bar stories anthology (''Tales From The Space Port Bar'') make it quite clear that even without the obvious quality of the story in question, they would have bought it anyway just because they were so impressed by Zelazny's chutzpah.

!!Literature/TheChroniclesOfAmber
* With not so much a Crowning Moment as a Crowning ''Reputation'' of Awesome, Benedict of Amber is known as the best fighter in all the worlds. A perfect illustration is given when his brother Corwin--a man strong enough to lift cars, wrestle with demons, and snap necks with his bare hands; skilled enough to outfight dozens of men at a time, and tough enough to grow his eyes back after being blinded ''and'' survive the bubonic plague--finds out that Benedict is coming to get him. Corwin ''turns and runs''.
* Corwin himself is the second best fighter of the worlds: which should gives you an idea of Benedict's strength, considering the best warrior after him fear him that much.
* Corwin, in chains at his brother's coronation, gets his hands on the crown and promptly dubs himself King of Amber.

!!Literature/CreaturesOfLightAndDarkness
* Typhon's defeat of The Thing That Cries In The Night.
* The Steel General and Wakim's fugue battle. They have to be stopped before they destroy the world they're standing on.

!!Literature/LordOfLight
* The duel between Yama and Rild is an exemplar of badassery.
* Yama versus an attempted ShapeShifterGuiltTrip:
-->'''Yama:''' Do you not know ''each man kills the thing he loves?''
