** Akatung eventually bursts out, and Moog retaliates by whipping out that bee-summoning horn everyone wrote off as a joke earlier. This time, is summons a whole plague of insects that launch into the dragon's mouth and cause him to briefly choke on his own fireball.
** What follows is an intense chase between the ''Old Glory'' and the dragon through a labyrinth that the latter lights up. They come across the threshold and change it just in time so that Akatung goes into the Threshold located in Antica, where he'll presumably drown.

** Sure enough, Clay finds Matrick, who's so far over the DespairEventHorizon that he plans on just letting Larkspur capture him. Infuriated by his friend's busted resolve, Clay demands he get up before Larkspur's monks descend on him. Matrick can only watch as his friend is pummeled again and again. His horror turns to anger...and he whips out a flask, drinks all of it, ''[[HesBack and then whips out Grace and Roxy.]]'' What follows is the king of Agria showing everyone why he was once the most feared thing to wield twin daggers back then.

* The reason Kit is immortal in the first place. Centuries ago, he was the court musician of Firaga, a Druin Exarch. He spent a while "entertaining" the royal's wife, and one day while plastered, he stumbled into the private garden and got bitten by a peacock. Except that was no peacock, but a phoenix. Upon killing it, Kit was embued with its power when it exploded into the sky like a comet as a means of rebirth.

* During the fight against Shadow and the spirit clones he summons, aside from Saga holding it's own against them, Clay manages to disarm the druin by letting him bury his scythe ''Umbra'' into ''Blackheart'', then pulling away.
** Saga bringing down the phantom impersonating Gregor/Dane together.
** An even more awesome moment comes when Ganelon faces off against his own doppelganger. As the narration states, Ganelon's life has been nothing but hardship and fighting that's honed him into a perfect destroyer. This impersonator doesn't have any of that sort of experience. The result is predictable.

* Moog is absolutely furious at Gabe for even considering letting the Boneface clan take Sabbatha away for breeding purposes. Gabe tries to justify it by saying she's dangerous, but Moog counters that they're ''all'' dangerous, and that Sabbatha's no different from any of them for that. Also, he manages to find a solution by just giving the cannibals his food-producing hat as a trade-off.

* All of Saga reunited vs. a chimera in the Maxithon.
** Despite being so many years out of practice for the most part, Saga holds up pretty okay for the first half, with Matrick tricking the ram head of the chimera into biting his arm so that one of his daggers goes right through its brain.
** Before being paralyzed briefly, Clay manages to jam his sword into the dragon head's neck. The wound proves to be really useful later.
** Ganelon cutting off the tail, preventing Clay from getting killed. For a moment, it's just him and the monster, two beings bred to fight, kill, and die. From there, the warrior has it on the ropes...and speaking of ropes, [[OhCrap the chimera's wings break free of their restraints.]] Ganelon holds on as the beast crashes into a skyship, which crashes into one of the Maxithon's support pillars. Then another skyship starts opening fire on the chimera. As the monster destroys it in retaliation for getting shot, Ganelon pulls Clay's sword out from the dragon head, causing it to explode when it tries to breathe fire. He uses the sword to stab the main head again and again, causing it to careen into where Lastleaf and Dinantra are watching. The collision kills Dinantra, and Saga is victorious...well, after they survive the Maxithon going downriver as a result of the pillars being destroyed.

He was later found dead due to [[GroinAttack "testicular asphyxiation"]]. Sure, the daughters were killed for it, but their sacrifice instigated a rebellion that sent the evil emperor's family packing and Fivecourt relatively free. Hence it's motto, "SUFFER NO TYRANTS".
