Before entering the building, she placed David's rifle, which he'd accidentally left in her possession earlier that day, in the window of a neighboring building. After Prof took all obvious weapons from her person and trapped her inside the burning building, she was able to use the remote fire function of David's rifle to shoot herself, thus evading a permanent death by fire. Her quick thinking allowed her to survive an attempt on her life by a man notorious for killing Epics.
