** First, Chup decides to defect to the West(Good) even under hopeless circumstances. Chup has no reason to think the West will accept him, but he still decides against serving the East if they insist on slavery rather than his free service. This assumes the West survives its battles with the armies of "Som the Dead" and his Demon ally Lord Zapranoth.
** [[BigDamnHeroes Chup doesn't have much time to save the West, but he does]] by deducing where to find Zapranoth's SoulJar, which will spare the West fighting a Demon Lord. But to arrive in time, ''[[ItMakesSenseInContext Chup must have his head cut off]]''. The medical drones can deliver him in time, but obviously there's a chance he won't heal in time, or even correctly. Chup takes this news like a badass, and overcomes many obstacles to take out the Demon Lord.
