* The fact that the S.C.A.F are the only military in the Dead Space universe who were actually genuinely competent at fighting the Necromorphs is a huge one. Sure, they lost in the end, but the fact that they held out for three years against a foe that easily bodied trained soldiers on both occasions that they got involved, not only clueing onto the fact that they needed to dismember the creatures to take them out and sharing the knowledge in their combat manual so that every soldier was prepared to properly deal with them as they appeared, but also managing to multitask between fighting off the infected and carrying on with business as usual for quite a while before it finally became too much is nothing short of commendable, especially considering that most of their ranks were filled with greenhorns.

* After [[spoiler: Ellie is killed by Danik's intervention,]] Isaac [[BewaretheNiceOnes finally loses his cool.]] While he [[TranquilFury isn't screaming incoherently,]] he outright states that his only goal is to take down everyone and everything responsible for the necromorph plague... [[HeroicSacrifice even if it kills him.]] The entire next chapter consists of one long rampage through Unitologists and necromorphs alike, as you pursue [[spoiler:Danik]] into the bowels of the earth. A full swarm of necromorphs, an entire company of Unitologist troops, and even the hulking new [[spoiler:alien necromorphs]] fail to stop you, all culminating in a vertical chase sequence where you battle all the aforementioned threats while rappelling into an abyss.
