* PetGetTheKeys: Played with - when Nobita gets captured by Uranda's minions and imprisoned in a cage, Fuuko managed to sneak in trying to locate her master. She found him alongside a drunk guard, and Nobita motions for Fuuko to grab his keys before another guard enters. It backfires with Fuuko grabbing his hat, his spear, his left boot, and a whole pile of RummageFail (to Nobita's frustration) as a second guard suddenly enters just as the first is regaining consciousness. But luckily, that second guard turns out to be Gian pulling a DressingAsTheEnemy, where he then knocks out the first and frees Nobita.
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: Fuuko looks like a sentient pile of cotton candy with an adorable face. And she gets even cuter after Nobita decides to disguise her in a Fuuko doll costume!
* SealedEvilInACan: Uranda the ancient Wind Demon, and his dragon-like creation, the Mafuga. Until Uranda awakens and escapes early in the story, and plots to revive Mafuga.
* SmallSecludedWorld: Much like [[Anime/DoraemonNobitaAndTheHauntsOfEvil Bauwan]], most of this story takes place in the Storm Village, a mystical world populated by wind-controlling humans whose technology is powered entirely by the air.
* SwordOfPlotAdvancement: The third component of Mafuga (after Fuuko and Gorado) is an unnanmed wind spirit sealed in a Red Egg, which is held shut by an ancient sword. [[spoiler: The sword gets inevitably removed causing Fuuko and Gorado to be combined with the third spirit, turning into the dreaded Mafuga - but in the thick of battle, Nobita retrieves the sword and with Temujin's help, managed to drive the sword through Mafuga's side releasing Fuuko]].
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Early on, Nobita had this reaction for scolding Fuuko over accidentally breaking one of Shizuka's stuffed toys in a rage after being jealous of Shizuka's affection towards Nobita. He regrets it dearly afterwards, but later found Fuuko near a creek where they make amends.
* TalkingAnimal: Yaakju, the ancient yak-god of the mountains who rescued the unconscious Nobita and reveals to him the backstory of the three wind-gods – specifically, the fact that Nobita’s beloved new pet, Fuuko, is one of the three components in awakening the demonic dragon Mafuga.
