* Cynder was once one of the dragon eggs born in the Year Of The Dragon, and one of the only 2 [[SoleSurvivor surviving hatchlings of her generation after the mass infanticide]] the Dark Master and his Ape Army carried out. She was taken to serve as [[Pantheon/VillainousRoles Malefor]]'s [[{{Pun}} literal]] and [[TheDragon figurative]] DragonInChief. She would serve as Malefor's greatest servant and warrior until she was saved by the new purple dragon, Spyro. After several adventures, she would prove vital to stopping her former boss`s plans. She would fall in love with Spyro after it was all over, and become his mate.

* Cynder's ascension would be granted to her by her lover, who wanteed to see her in the pantheon and, once Spyro saw that there was a vacant position, requested to the Court that she'd fill it. Upon ascending, they embraced.

* Once ascended, Cynder's first order of business was to try to meet as many dragons as she could, [[{{Understatement}} due to having a very poor social life in her homeworld]], something that earned her both allies and enemies. A particulary weird consequence of this was meeting Yu-gi-oh deities, as many have dragon monsters, and she befriended several of the nicer ones, Judai (Introduced to her by Johan), however, was too Hyper for him, she's asked him to tone it down.

** Was downright impressed by the Winged Dragon of Ra.

* There are 3 deities she '''[[BerserkButton HATES]]''': [[Pantheon/VillainousRoles Malefor]], [[Pantheon/{{Slaughter}} AM]] and [[Pantheon/{{Villainy}} Melkor]]: The first because he had her abducted as an egg and ReforgedIntoAMinion (She's grumbled to Spyro and Sparx how jelous he is of them since Spyro was HappilyAdopted while he and Gaul are the closest thing she has to parents), [[Pantheon/{{Villainy}} Melkor]], who's resposible for her's and Spyro's species being AlwaysChaoticEvil in Ea and [[Pantheon/{{Slaughter}} AM]] (As she has been a victim of it's trope).

* Was a quick enemy of [[Pantheon/UndeadAndPhasmata Nekron]], seeing him as [[OmnicidalManiac similar]] to Malefor. [[TranquilFury Then she found out what he does to still living Black Lanterns]].

* Has a surprisingly [[FriendlyEnemy friendly enmity]] with [[Pantheon/{{Dragons}} Bowser]], finding herself incapable of hating him despite his villainy due to his AffablyEvil nature.

* Pites [[Pantheon/{{Dragons}} Sindragosa]], knowing very well what it is like to be a dragoness corrupted into a monster, she also pities anyone who's been in her situation.

* '''Izanami'''. [[spoiler: She's a malevolent goddess of death who wants to turn the world into a desolate wasteland, and the true antagonist of the series. Despite seeming like a straight-laced GenericDoomsdayVillain, her actions are the reason why current world of ''[=BlazBlue=]'' is so messed up. She conspired with Terumi and Relius to destroy the Amaterasu Unit, which required a vessel with enough power to contain her. That vessel just so happened to be Saya, Ragna & Jin's younger sister, whom Terumi had kidnapped. As Terumi was the founder of the NOL and Sector Seven, he pulled some strings in order to allow Izanami to become the Imperator, supplanting the true royal lineage - the Amanohokosaka family. She orchestrated the Ikaruga Civil War not only in a bid to wipe out the royal family but also to satisfy her twisted whims. Under her rule, the NOL became an iron-fisted dictatorship that used subjugation, memory-alteration, and black ops to create more death and tragedy. Once she starts getting involved in ''Chronophantasma'', shit hits the fan. She coldly betrays Terumi and Relius without a second thought, leaving them for dead when their plans are foiled. Izanami is so powerful that not only does she survive Hakumen's Time Killer (his ultimate technique which literally erases your existence, but she can summon and command Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi, a gigantic {{Kaiju}} KillSat, as well as the Black Beast itself. The last part she uses with sadistic glee as she forces Ragna's powers to awaken and go berserk.]]
** Her role in the story is terrifying enough, but once she becomes playable, her attacks involve utilizing all sorts of arcane necromancy magic, like conjuring will-o-the-wisps and summoning skulls to trap her opponent. Her Exceed Accel, however, is a perfect example of the terror she brings: ''her face becomes a skeleton with a SlasherSmile''. Even worse? The Active Flow version involves chains surrounding the opponent and the screen ''turning red''. Izanami is everything you fear about the concept of death made manifest, and she wants you to know it. An even more frightening prospect occurs when you realize that unlike Nine's trailer, ''Izanami's Astral Heat isn't shown''. If her Exceed Accel is that frightening, [[NothingIsScarier is her Astral Heat so terrifying that they can't give us a glimpse of it?]]
*** To summarize, when your Exceed Accel is so frightening that it briefly '''''replaced Arakune's Astral Heat as the page picture''''', you ''know'' you're pure, unleaded NightmareFuel.
** [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXAJb5zNeqM Her Astral has now been revealed]] and, yes, it was left out of the trailer for ''very'' good reasons. She grabs the opponent and opens a portal to the land of the dead, which sends dozens of spirits spiraling upward in a hurricane. As they fall, a picture of Izanami [[JumpScare suddenly appears]] with [[ScareChord an appropriate sound effect]] showing her with '''completely blank, GlowingEyelightsOfUndeath''' and a '''''nightmare-inducing SlasherSmile on her face!''''' As if that wasn't terrifying enough, she starts fading away into shadow with the background turning into skulls, then seven gigantic skulls crash down on the opponent, devouring them and sending them into the underworld as an afterimage of a skull flashes upon the screen and the same scream from her Exceed Accel blaring in the background. Sweet dreams!
** The way she suddenly appears is framed so that she's not focusing on her opponent. '''''[[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou SHE'S LOOKING AT YOU.]]'''''
** In Ragna's Act II arcade ending, she LETS HERSELF BE STABBED just to show Ragna what CompleteImmortality means. The cutscene then changes to her with her [[RedEyesTakeWarning eyes wide]] and a SlasherSmile all while BLEEDING ALL OVER the place. The scene itself is full of static and Izanami's EvilLaugh. And when she announces Ragna his true enemy the screen suddenly jumps to [[spoiler: what seems to be the girl inside Amaterasu, in order words, NOEL trapped inside ''something'' with tubes connected to her.]]
** Hell, even her ''themes'' are pretty terrifying, even if they're CreepyAwesome. Her main theme has OminousLatinChanting, a frenetic pace as if you were facing a menace to the entire planet, and what sounds like ghostly screams at the beginning. Her theme when fighting Ragna has even more OminousLatinChanting and a very dark sound to it.

[[folder:!!"The Beast" (AKA John White)]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/PhilLaMarr
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_beast_7602.png"]]
[[caption-width-right:350:''"Humanity is dead. Help me save what I can."'']]

The Beast is an immensely powerful Conduit that the First Son's leader, Kessler, believed would eventually come to destroy the world in the near future. While only mentioned as a SequelHook at the end of the first game, he appears as one of the main antagonists in the second game. It eventually turns out that the Beast (or at least the version we see in this timeline) is John White, who was resurrected and transformed after the Ray Sphere destroyed his original body. John believes that the only way to save the world from the deadly Plague is to activate the powers of any remaining Conduits to help them survive, at the cost of dooming the rest of the human species.

----
* AffablyEvil: Makes it clear that he bears humanity no ill will, and even apologizes for attacking Cole once he's coherent enough to speak.
* AntiVillain: He's a Well-Intentioned Extremist. WellIntentionedExtremist. Yes, he needs to be stopped, but he [[BeingEvilSucks doesn't even want to do what he's doing. doing]]. He just feels [[DirtyBusiness that he has to.]].
* AttackOfThe50FootWhatever: In battle, he transforms into a 10 story tall lava monster.
* BaldOfEvil: [[spoiler:In both his human and monstrous forms.]]
* ABeastInNameAndNature: Known simply as the Beast, likely a nod to his apocalyptic nature.
* BeingEvilSucks: He admits that he [[spoiler:he cannot live with the atrocities he is forced to commit for the greater good]].
* BigBadEnsemble: With Joseph Bertrand III in inFAMOUS 2.''inFAMOUS 2''. Though most of your time is spent fighting Bertrand and his various creations, your main goal is still trying to stop the Beast.
* CoveredWithScars: In human form. Probably [[spoiler:Probably a symptom of having had to pull himself together on multiple occasions, including being torn apart by a Ray Sphere, having half of his head blown apart by a lightning strike, and being hit with a nuclear missile.
* DarkMessiah: He's actually attempting to save [[spoiler:save the Conduits from The Plague.]]
* TheDreaded: The [[BadFuture future threat threat]] of [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt global destruction destruction]] caused by the Beast was so great, that it led Kessler to plotting all the events of the first game as part of his grand scheme to force Cole to ultimately fight and defeat the Beast, hoping to prevent the upcoming apocalypse from ever happening.
* FinalBoss: Of the second game. [[spoiler: But only in the Good Ending.]]
* FinalBossPreview: You first fight him at the beginning of the second game. Of course, you can't beat him then, only escape from him.
* FromASingleCell: Regenerates in a few hours after being leveled by [[spoiler:by a nuclear missile. Also did this after [[spoiler:after being absorbed into the Ray Sphere in the first place.]].
-->'''The Beast:''' I had to pull myself back together. Do you have any idea how hard that is?
* GreaterScopeVillain: Everything Kessler does in the first game all links back to him.
* HumanoidAbomination: [[spoiler:It turns out he used to be a normal man though.]]
* ImplacableMan: Tracks you all the way from Empire City to New Marais, despite the entire US army being thrown at him along the way.
* TheJuggernaut
* KnightOfCerebus: While he doesn't appear again until the end of the game, The Reveal [[spoiler:TheReveal that occurs regarding him, and the true purpose of the RFI show the game will not be ending on the same high note regardless of Cole's choices.]]
* MagmaMan: Uses his flame powers to create a volcanic body for himself.
* MakeMyMonsterGrow: Can change himself from a human sized form into a massive golem made of lava and fire.
* MilesToGoBeforeISleep: In the Evil Ending, the [[spoiler:the Beast admits to being deeply tired of killing, and that he would have preferred to remain dead if he hadn't had a mission to complete — -- hence the reason he transfers his power to Cole.]]
* MindOverMatter: Can suspend Cole in midair and suck targets into a ball of fire using his powers.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: He's named after The Beast that appears in the [[Literature/TheBible Book of Revelation.]]. However, he personally rejects this as an unwanted nickname.
* NighInvulnerable: Can take massive amounts of punishment from gun and rocket fire before showing any signs of damage. Even [[spoiler:Even a nuclear missile can only temporarily destroy his body, and the only known way of killing him for good is the Ray Field Inhibitor.]]
* PassingTheTorch: [[spoiler:Gives Cole all his powers in order to save the rest of the world's Conduits before allowing himself to die in the evil ending.]]
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Destroys most of the East Coast before the end of inFAMOUS 2.''inFAMOUS 2''. Looking at the map shows his path has cut a scar into North America that makes the Grand Canyon look like a paper cut.
* PersonalityPowers: It would be easy to see the Beast as being [[AllegoricalCharacter allegorical]] of the Plague (especially considering he emits the very radiation that caused it), along with the civil unrest and [[GeneticEngineeringIsTheNewNuke the new Conduit-based arms-race that science hath wrought wrought]] all rolled into one. He is a massive, unknowable, unstoppable [[AttackOfThe50FootWhatever massive]], [[HumanoidAbomination unknowable]], [[TheJuggernaut unstoppable]] BeastOfTheApocalypse that lays waste wherever he goes. He can't be fought, he can't be bought, he can't be reasoned with (having ([[spoiler:having legitimate reasons of his own for his actions)]]) and will not rest until the humans die and the Conduits survive. [[spoiler:The fact that he can take human form, become invisible, telepathically communicate with Cole and teleport is indicative of how omnipresent his threat really is.]] His powers possess a fire-motif, his Ray Sphere-esque method of activating Conduits being him burning the human away for the Conduit within to emerge like diamonds in coal, the rest reduced to nothing but ash.
* PhysicalGod: He is perhaps the single most powerful Conduit or superhuman being seen in the series so far.
* PlayingWithFire: The Beast's main powers are based on manipulating flames and heat, implying [[spoiler:that his powers would have been fire-based if the Ray Sphere that vaporized him went off like normal]].
* PullingThemselvesTogether: Can simply rebuild his volcanic body when damaged. When he does rebuild his body, a black holes forms and sucks in everything until The Beast has reincarnated. [[spoiler:This is also how John brought himself Back from the Dead BackFromTheDead after being disintegrated by the Ray Sphere.]]
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Both his "armored" and "human" form have glowing red eyes.
* SatanicArchetype: The Beast is presented as the strongest of his kind (conduits) unbeatable in his level of power. [[spoiler: He was even the incorruptible agent for good John White, who wished to ensure humanity's safety before he "fell".]] He is associated with the color red and [[PlayingWithFire fire]] (possibly as a fire conduit if the faulty ray sphere had not vaporized him), and he even tries to "tempt" Cole with a future where mankind can be survive through activated conduits at the expense of the rest of humanity. Good!Cole fulfills the role of MessianicArchetype by sacrificing himself to slay the Beast, while Evil!Cole takes on the role as TheAntiChrist when the Beast leaves his powers and his mission to transform the world to him. [[MeaningfulName Even his name can be seen as a reference to the "Beast of Revelation"]], a name some have attributed to {{Satan}} or something adjacent to him.
* ShoutOut: His origins [[spoiler:having been a normal guy given godhood after a scientific experiment gone wrong vaporized his body, leading to him pulling his body back together together]] is awfully similar to the origins of Doctor Manhattan from ''ComicBook/{{Watchmen}}''.
* SuperEmpowering: Can awaken, enhance, or transfer his abilities to any Conduits in his immediate vicinity. Cole uses this to gain infinite energy and the ability to fly in the evil ending of inFAMOUS 2.
* SuperpowerLottery: He's easily one of the most powerful and versatile Conduits alive.
* StealthHiBye
* {{Telepathy}}
* {{Teleportation}}: Can appear and disappear into thin air at will.
* TragicMonster: [[spoiler:He went from being an ordinary federal agent who was just trying to stop a terrorist bombing, to a reluctantly apocalyptic supervillain trying to save humanity the only way he knew how.]]
* WalkingWasteland: [[spoiler:He's actually a living Ray-Sphere; the wastelands he leaves behind are the results of awakening Conduits, leaving destruction similar to the original Ray-Sphere detonation.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: He's actually creating Conduits who can survive The Plague, ThePlague, but has to kill the dying, "normal" humans to do so. He even admits to Cole that he wishes there was another way.
* WalkingSpoiler: Just knowing about him is a major spoiler for the first game, since his very existence is only revealed at the end. And his identity and motivation in the sequel is such a huge game-changer that he qualifies for that as well.
* WasOnceAMan: [[spoiler:He's John White, the person who got torn apart by a Ray Sphere in the first game. It also [[CameBackStrong turned him him]] into the Beast.[[HumanoidAbomination the]] [[PhysicalGod Beast]].]]
