*** A lot of jokes surrounding Leni ("Schooled!", for example, shows that Leni has trouble getting dressed without Lori's help) suggest she isn't just comicaly stupid, but she may in fact have a mental disability.

* Sue, the controlling nurse at the retirement home. Is she just a bully who uses her position to dominate other people? [[WellIntentionedExtremist Or does she genuinely care about the seniors' well-being]], and is harsh because she thinks that it's [[ForYourOwnGood the best way to run the retirement home and to prevent the seniors from hurting themselves?]] She may be needlessly rude, but she's also enforcing established rules that Lincoln and Pop Pop are breaking. Also, some of the seniors at the retirement home (Scoots in particular) are shown to act reckless, which could explain part of her controlling behavior.

The latter has been hinted at a number of times, especially when it comes to the fact that she's (currently) the only one of her siblings to have a driver's license.

** Is Luan as stable as she seems? And if she's not, just how unstable is she? "April Fools Rules" indicates that she might not be entirely stable or benign, since she does all of the pranks in the house and doesn't see anything wrong with them. While she simply shrugs off her {{lame pun reaction|}}s and positively continues her routine, she is shown twice to be [[CantTakeCriticism sensitive to the bluntness of more confrontational criticism]] in "No Laughing Matter". too much information

** Out of all them, Luan is quite the most complex and interesting case. Just about every one of the other siblings' flaws (e.g. Lori's mean streak, Lynn's roughhousing, Lola's brattiness) have been addressed in the series at one point or another, while Luan hasn't quite been given enough CharacterDevelopment.
** Is Luan as stable as she seems? And if she's not, just how unstable is she? "April Fools Rules" indicates that she might not be entirely stable or benign, since she does all of the pranks in the house and doesn't see anything wrong with them. "Fool's Paradise" does little to support otherwise.
** Likewise, no one can quite put their finger on the potential FreudianExcuse she has for her ruthless sociopathy on April Fool's Day. One could infer that she is a WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds in that she possibly has a DarkAndTroubledPast that induces PTSD symptoms whenever reminded of or [[AbusiveParents her family may have abused her at some point]], which ultimately culimnated in Luan creating a monstrous alter-ego of herself to mask her loss, all with the courtesy of her favorite holiday. On the other hand, it can be inferred that her SplitPersonality is taking over on that day or that she [[CorruptTheCutie was morally corrupt by the evil]] and wanted to give into the rebellious TeensAreMonsters territory. In general, Luan's sociopathy on April Fool's Day [[InferioritySuperiorityComplex may be a mask to hide the trauma of a certain loss]]. However, there is no evidence of a loss, so this is all speculation.
** Is her cheerful, comedic routine genuine, or is she [[SadClown hiding a sad side to her personality]]? Outside of her mime act in "Ties That Bind" (although she had reason to be sad then as she thought she might get kicked out), "Funny Business" brings something into question, since Luan says she's dealt with {{emo}}s like Maggie and her friends before, but doesn't elaborate further than that, although this is fairly supported by her musical number "Laugh Parade" from "Really Loud Music" stating that she thinks the world is a scary place "every now and then". With all that said, she may indeed be a SadClown suffering from low self-esteem.
** Likewise, Luan's childlike innocence and idealism, as well as her tendency to [[CompanionCube talk to a favorite childhood toy like it's there for her]], are signs reminiscent of a miserable reputation and lack of friends. Due to her aforementioned quirks, she may indeed be an easy target for bullies and feel insecure of her [[AllOfTheOtherReindeer at-school reputation]] and lack of friends, and so she might use her love for comedy and fun to mask her insecurities of growing up and conforming to stereotypes. "Stage Plight" sheds a little light on this interpretation, as she exhibited full-on social awkwardness when talking to her peers and become anxious over her role in the play, constantly interacting with her CompanionCube to boost her confidence, which has "loner" written all over it. However, in the latter case, she had a reason to be anxious because she was required to [[spoiler: kiss Benny]] as part of their act, something she's never done before, and [[AgeAppropriateAngst is completely reasonable for someone her age to angst about given she's still a kid]].
** Exactly how much of Leni's stupidity is genuine and how much is it [[ObfuscatingStupidity a mask]]? The fact that "It's a Loud, Loud, Loud, Loud House" implies not only that she's [[SmarterThanYouLook smarter than she looks]], but implies she ''knows'' she's seen as stupid, certainly brings this into question. However, Leni may just be referring to how she pulled the HairpinLockpick out of her hair, [[LiteralMinded meaning that her head contains hairpins as well as air]]. Likewise, Leni's naïve demeanor and overly sweet nature could also be a conscious effort on her part to be seen as trustworthy and endearing among adults and authority figures and subvert the belief that all TeensAreMonsters ({{Alpha Bitch|}}es in the case of most girls).

One could infer that she

** Is
her cheerful, comedic routine genuine, or is she [[SadClown hiding a sad side to her personality]]? Outside of her mime act in "Ties That Bind" (although she had reason to be sad then as she thought she might get kicked out), "Funny Business" brings something into question, since Luan says she's dealt with {{emo}}s like Maggie and her friends before, but doesn't elaborate further than that, although this is fairly supported by her musical number "Laugh Parade" from "Really Loud Music" stating that she thinks the world is a scary place "every now and then". What furthers curiosity is that Luan is usually depicted as a perpetually cheerful KiddieKid with a [[WideEyedIdealist humorous and idealistic outlook on life]], a trait that along with her [[OlderThanTheyLook youthful appearance]], possibly makes her an easy target for bullies. While she simply shrugs off her {{lame pun reaction|}}s and positively continues her routine, she is shown twice to be [[CantTakeCriticism sensitive to the bluntness of more confrontational criticism]] in "No Laughing Matter".

* Are the Loud parents good parents whose daughters' personalities and quirks were beyond their control, incompetent parents who still try to do the right thing even if it doesn't end well most of the time, or outright negligent AbusiveParents who couldn't even be bothered to educate or raise their children properly? In general, their stress and occasional lack of support (i.e. going out frequently, leaving them under the care of babysitters) can easily be seen as justifiable, given how they have ''eleven'' freaking children to look after, but some episodes imply that their disciplinary is out there, seeing as how they once had no problem locking Lincoln out of the house overnight and forcing him to sleep in the rain and eat from a dog food bowl, locking Luan in a crate for the rest of April Fool's Day, and chaining Lola in the basement. Nevertheless, they have on numerous occasions shown themselves to love all eleven of their children and be able to nurture them in ways like backing them up on their insecurities and encouraging them to gain experience in more professional fields in "Future Tense". Lastly, their daughters' quirks are hinted to be what they were born with in Lori, Lucy, Lynn, and Luna's baby photos, so the former interpretation is most likely the case.

** The Loud siblings invite a lot of these:
*** Are the Loud sisters' extreme and quirky personalities [[NatureVersusNurture what they were born with or a conscious effort on their parts to stand out in a crowd of eleven siblings]]?
*** Is Lori really a bossy and condescending BigSisterBully who loves bragging about being the oldest, or does she just act like that because [[IJustWantToBeSpecial being the oldest is all she has]]? The latter has been hinted at a number of times, especially when it comes to the fact that she's (currently) the only one of her siblings to have a driver's license.
*** Lincoln's refusal to solve Ronnie Anne's bullying with violence. Is it because he's naturally [[NiceGuy nice]] and non-violent or because [[WouldntHitAGirl the bully is a girl]]? Or maybe [[TakeAThirdOption both]]?

*** Lola's a jerk, no doubt about it--but how much of it is it by her own volition and how much of it is from the stress of regularly competing in beauty pageants? Also is she suffering from image problems and self-esteem issues caused by the beauty pageant standards?
*** Lynn and Lana's tendency to act like dogs sometimes bring three things to mind: 1) How did they learn how to act like that, 2) When did they learn how to act like that, and 3) Why do they act like that in the first place? For Lana, it's probably because six-year-olds often pretend to be animals but for Lynn, we still don't know why. How is less hard, though, as acting like a dog is a pretty easy thing to do.
*** Since Lincoln is the main character of the show, how much of of the Loud siblings' general behavior and personalities are real or how much is it just [[UnreliableNarrator Lincoln's perception of himself and his sisters]]?

*** Likewise, are the Loud children truly the moral individuals they're shown to be when they learn AnAesop at the end after being disciplined and genuinely respect their parents' authority, or blatant rebellious, sociopathic, pathological liars who constantly rely on the media to defend their actions? Since the show is hinted to take place in the 2010s decade, the latter could indeed be the case, as anyone going through high school can attest that many teenagers are insecure and constantly use the media to hide the cruel cynicism of the world, and since Lucy, Luan, and Luna all have showbusiness aspirations, it only furthers curiosity.
** Is Bobby dating Lori in mutual respect, or is there some ulterior motive to it? And if so, who has the ulterior motive, Lori or Bobby? After all, seeing as Bobby isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and Lori can be quite aggressive and downright bossy at times, you have to wonder what keeps their relationship afloat.
** Is Ronnie Anne a bully, Lincoln's lover who's a JerkWithAHeartOfGold, or an OnlySaneWoman who acts like a bully to cover her feelings?
** Sue, the controlling nurse at the retirement home. Is she a bully who uses her status to dominate other people? Or is she harsh because she thinks that it's the best way to run the retirement home and to prevent the seniors from hurting themselves? She may be needlessly rude, but she's also enforcing established rules that Lincoln and Pop Pop are breaking. Also, some of the seniors at the retirement home are known for being reckless. That could explain part of her controlling behavior.
