Susan Davis: If this is a Downer Ending, then so are Vision Of Escaflowne, Serial Experiments Lain, and Revolutionary Girl Utena, among others. Perhaps an "Escaflowne Ending" entry covering the case where the lovers end the series apart when it's within their power to be together (Because Destiny Says So or The World Is Not Ready), might be in order?
Ununnilium: I haven't seen the endings of the others, but Utena's is a lot more "the adventures continue", while Yamibou's seems more "accept the depressing situation".
Game Purist: I considered adding Adaptation Decay, but the game and anime plots are different enough that I didn't know if it would really apply. The game did lack the Wall Banger and Gainax Ending (in one possible ending, Hazuki and Hatsumi live happily ever after, while in the other ending the main character steals Hatsumi for himself... typical of an H-game, though) so perhaps that's reason enough.
Hazuki: Added a little in the Spoilers section about the "expansion" to the game which was recently released and cleaned up some spelling errors. *shivers* I still occasionally have bad dreams about this series. Also, when did Studio Deen start wandering around in my head for plot ideas...?
