Norwegian Guy: Not to be evil, but... why do we have a serious treatise on the German language on here? I mean, don't get me wrong, as a linguist I enjoy reading stuff like this every bit as much as the next guy, but isn't this more of a subject for Wikipedia, and not TV-tropes?

Silent Hunter: Thanks, Frank75. Remind me to run translation program results through here first in future.

Air Of Mystery: Incidentally, I heard from a classmate that "Guile" is German for "horny", which frankly adds a whole new level to Street Fighter.

That Wacky German: I can confirm that. It is pronounced the same way.

Air Of Mystery: Wicked sweet!

Tolkiendil: Although today the meaning of "geil" is usually along the lines of 'great'/'cool'.
