That Other 1 Dude:Do you think this would work as a pic?

Mr Death: Took out the second half of the Predator entry, because the editor apparently forgot that the Predator was hiding in the trees and invisible. How exactly was he expecting Billy to know where he was?

Ellen Hayes: Doesn't matter. The jungle at that point is divided into two parts: the part where everyone's been getting killed, and the other part (Predator-free, since we've only seen one of them). It's divided by the classic Uncrossable Chasm with the classic one (big) log across it. Ahhnold crosses the log to the Predator-free side. Last we see Billy, he is standing on the log, with his back to the Predator side of the chasm. Due to the Tethercat Principle, we can NOT assume he turns around. Next, we see Ahhhnold in the jungle and hear a really long loud scream (which doesn't quite fit any trope). Under the Sorting Algorithm of Deadness, Billy might come back, but I suspect not... and turning your back on the only way the Big Bad can approach you is... An Idiot Ball must've been involved. Standing on the log, when you could go a little further and be on solid ground (and wait for the Big Bad to approach along the one path possible, is nearly as stupid.

Ophicius: Conversation In The Main Page:

  • More likely, this is to the Real Life story of Horatio —see below.
    • ...I'd say that "dark places no others will enter" gives Lord Of The Rings a pretty even shot with Horatio.
    • Seeing as how Babylon 5 is basically supposed to be Lord Of The Rings in space (the terror-inducing screams of the Shadow vessels, a planet called Zha'Ha'Dum (Kha'Za'Dum) that claims the life of a main character by falling into a deep chasm, said character later returning to life and rejoining everyone at a dramatic moment, an elite group of warriors called Rangers, among many other examples), it's pretty obviously a reference to Gandalf.

INUH: I think Tank Man would be more appropriate as a page pic. Comments?
