Grimace: Am I the only one who finds this comic series...not bad (I actually really enjoyed it), but insulting? The story itself is fine (once again: highly recommend it), but the whole "This is my face when I'm fucking you in the ass" scene at the end always bugged me, as I always read it as Mark Millar saying "Woohay! Look how awesome I am compared to you, with your normal cubicle job and humdrum life!". The whole "Your life is shit and you should feel bad" aesop just doesn't gel when you realise the guy who wrote it is just another average joe with a paying job like the rest of us.

Or is it just me? >:~P

Earnest: I echo your sentiments, however I've chosen to interpret that last panel as a challenge to get out of our complacent routines as much as possible. Yeah, it's annoying as hell, but that's why it works. Between when I read the comics and saw the film, I felt an amazing amount of satisfaction because I have done something with my life (lost 36 Kg, bungee jumped off a cliff), and plan on doing more. Granted, I didn't do these things just because I got angry at a comic book author/character, but anything that acts as a niggling barb against complacency and to achieve is welcome.

But then again, I disliked Hairspray because it was too accepting/forgiving of being overweight, with nary a word about trying to improve yourself. Come on people, we can lose weight if we want to! ^_^

Radioactive Zombie: Grimace, that was the reason why a lot of people liked the movie better than the comic book. And, at least, So I Heard, Gibson's chastising you at the end for accepting the death of heroes. Meh.

vynsane: I'm new to the wiki editing scene and this site in particular, and was wanted to get opinions before changing some stuff on this page: Are the characters in the comic more CaptainErsatz than AlternateCompanyEquivalent seeing as how, like Watchmen, the initial idea was to use actual D.C. comic characters, which was nixed by the company, and then modified by Millar for publication at another company (Top Cow).

Deadpool Fan: I have an important question, well at least to me. Apparently the whole book is just one big You Suck as people have pointed out. Sure it can be interpreted as a "Do something with your life" thing, but I don't view it as that. Therefore I have a major problem with the main Character. I'm wondering, was I suppose to like Gibson or envy him? Because I don't. He's an utterly unlikable evil bastard who, apparently, kills innocent people and commits rape. I'm beginning to understand WHY the movie is so different, no one would come out of the theatre liking this character. Not just because he's a villain but because he's a total ireddemable jerk. I don't know about you guys, but I like my villains with a bit more substance then just "I do it because I can!" I mean, at least Joker has an excuse, he's Insane, he's Batman's Anti-Thesis. Here, its just some punk kid who enjoys senseless murder. Please tell me I wasn't suppose to like this character, and please tell me no one else particularly likes him either except maybe his creator and few "Columbine Wannabes" if you will.

On the plus side, the story is still good.

Ethereal Mutation: If the film has "little to nothing in common" with the comics, I think that it's worthwhile to split the two into different articles. However, since I've only seen the film and that's what seems to be described on the main page, it would leave a gap if I did it. Is someone able to create a quick write-up of the comic series? I can take care of the rest from there.

Joe Grim: Unlike in the movie, the comic book version of Fox's only demonstrated super power seems to be evincing every horrible, bigoted stereotype about black women ever imagined. You could split it off, but I'm not sure what the fate of the comic book page would be; a number of people, myself included, consider it to be one of the worst, most offensive comic books ever made (worse than Marvel Zombies, even, which at least didn't have that whole Birth of a Nation vibe). It's a Wangst-Sue Author Insert starring Eminem being a trite little jerk in an ongoing revenge fantasy against all the kids in High School that were mean to him. And there's a monster made out of evil poop. 'Juvenile' would be a charitable description.
