- So This Troper lives in Texas, right? And a few years back when the Challenger exploded and I was back in high school, dad pokes his head in asking if I'm okay. I'm just coming around asking why he was asking, and he says there was a giant boom, windows had rattled and car alarms had gone off and he was trying to see what it was on the news. To this day I have no idea at all what that boom might have sounded like.
