From YKTTW Working Title: Showy Invincible Hero
Smokie: The trope describes the kind of characters that do not build up any tension. Meaning, they are joke-characters in a way. I don't think most of the examples fit, as even people where you know they will win, still have tension, which means they are the classic kind of hero. Something should be done about this.

Smokie: Alright, most examples are just Boring Invincible Hero minus the boring, for being awesome. The trope's description, however, reads that there is no suspense, because the winning part doesn't matter. Take the Gurren Lagann example: Yes the heroes look awesome, but the winning part still matters and there obviously is suspense. What I think would rather fit would be, for example, an extreme form of The Ace, for comedic effect. Maybe I just misconceived this trope, but then it Needs A Better Description
