MikoGalatea: To clarify my remarks on the Nightmare Fuel Unleaded part, I was just writing from experience since I rather stupidly listened to the OP song too soon after having just read volume 10 of the manga for the first time. Such happy music was probably the last thing I could've used when I had scenes of rape, torture, and a mutilated corpse freshly burned into my memory... so I really did lose sleep. XD I do agree that the dissonance between cute OP and scary main series is good, though.

(Also? I'm inordinately happy at finally having an excuse to make a discussion page. You can shoot me if you like.)

MikoGalatea: Now that Rape The Dog has been replaced with Moral Event Horizon, how best should we rearrange the examples? I think Aki Honda and the city thugs qualify as Complete Monsters, no questions asked, but as for Shiina's mum... she doesn't really count as crossing the horizon because she gets to redeem herself in the manga, so should her part just be shifted to a bullet point under Abusive Parents? ETA: Did the job myself, haha. If anyone disagrees, just tweak.

MikoGalatea: Regarding the most recent additions to the topic of Bowdlerisation, is there any evidence to support the claim that volume 6 got censored in Japan? It's just that I've never heard anything about it before. The closest I've heard to it is a response from Dark Horse that was posted on a forum some time back, which talked about how they were working closely with Kitoh when toning down the English adaptation; I'm just a little suspicious that someone might've gotten their facts mixed up (though I'm willing to be proven wrong).

I'll also point out that, IIRC, the edit list for the German version was provided by fans and not the actual publishers, therefore making it not an actual subversion, and the webpage with the German edits has been gone for a while now. They did actually finish their release of the manga, though, didn't they?
