Cassius335: Not sure about the Code Lyoko example, since the kids weren't being directly affected by XANA.

No... they were being indirectly affected by XANA.

Haven: Was there really a "fear and paranoia" plague in "Midnight"? I always assumed that was just normal fear of the unknown and paranoia about the mysterious Doctor, and the only Phlebotinum involved was the possession, or whatever was going on.

In a filler ark of dragonball Z, there was a substance called the Black Water Mist which turned people psychotically evil, it was then spilled over the earth afflicting everyone on it.

  • Not quite: the illness actually reduces a Vulcan's ability to suppress emotion. Picard temporarily absorbed most of the Vulcan's emotion, which allowed the Vulcan to do his job by making the emotions more manageable, but came with the risk of sending Picard quite mad, Vulcan emotions being more extreme than those felt by most other species (including humans).

If an entry's wrong, it should just be edited, not commented on. But in this case, I'm not seeing the need for a correction. Sarek basically did have "Vulcan Alzheimer's Disease", as in a terminal disease that affects the mental faculties of some elderly Vulcans. The treaty was in danger and Picard used a mind meld to bolster Sarek's emotional reserves, and it was indeed a Crowning Moment Of Awesome for Patrick Stewart as an actor. This response pretty much says the same thing, just in somewhat different words.
