Shazzbaa: Does this include stuff where the character's calm is just out of place, rather than a creepy smile? I'm thinking of Becket in Pirates III, whose calm, unhindered walk seemed to imply that he just couldn't comprehend the fact that he was losing. He wasn't in top form by any stretch, but he was calm in an un-calm moment.
- He isn't calm, he's catatonic. A few moments earlier he's unable to give any orders because he's paralyzed with fear.
Sir Psycho Sexy: Also, as an offshoot of Shazzba just asked, does this trope cover when a character looks calm and composed and nonthreatening, but is really completely insane?

- Stepford Smiler Gin Ichimaru deserves a mention as well.
- Removed. Holy crap, two misuses in one. From this trope "One is smiling — not vicious, not insane, not stoic — but calm, gentle... seeming almost enlightened." and from Stepford Smiler "These are the three main types of Stepford Smiler: Type A: The character seems to be happy, cheerful, is always smiling and seems to live a perfect life, but inside she feels very sad and depressed. Type B: The character seems to be kind and cheerful, but her true self is motiveless and hollow. Type C: The smile hides a very unstable and crazy person." Gin is none of those.
