Working Title: Knocking Out The Train: From YKTTW

Ununnilium:

  • Semi-subverted at least twice in Star Wars, both on board the Death Star; first Han's "boring conversation anyway" bit and then Luke blasting the bridge controls. Neither actually solves the problem (and Han, at least, probably didn't expect his instance of it to.)

The Han thing isn't an example. (After all, it's not intended as a solution.) Luke is, but is stated oddly; fixing it up.

Known Unknown: Removed this. Since I can't tell how that's supposed to be an example of this.

* Stalin allegedly said something to this effect, "The man is the source of all problems. No man, no problems".

Masami Phoenix: Removed the following. While it's true that the Heavy did charge into the room, the Soldier had already successfully unlocked the door.

  • In the "Meet the Spy" trailer for Team Fortress 2 the Soldier and the Scout can't open the door to the room with the secret intelligence briefcase in it. The Heavy solves this problem by ramming through the door with his minigun.

Would the literal knot-cutting in Diana Wynne Jones' "The Crown of Dalemark" be an example of this?

A Carlssin: Should we have a real life section? When I worked in tech support there was a remote office where all the computer equipment was stolen. The thieves ignored the heavy locked door and instead broke through the relatively weak drywall walls.
