Actaully, it makes up a lot of weddings - the only thing is, usually the bride and grrom have just met, and one or other does this for a living. Which makes it not very TV. nobody: Yup, I know more examples than I care to recount here. Two of those couples are still married today, one happily, one not-so-happily.

—- grixit: also, a lot of sitcoms use the marriage as a kickoff to some very painful incidents as the couple has to pretend to know each other well and to be experiencing both domestic bliss and an active sex life for the benefit of a suspicious immigration official.

Kilyle: This has shown up on Malcolm In The Middle, but I missed most of the episode and can't describe it. Reese gets married to a girl, and seems completely oblivious concerning the lover she pretends is merely her brother. Even when he catches them having sex. (Wonder if the rest of the ep was as amusing as the parts I did catch?)
