CrazyDreamer: I'm pulling the following from the examples list:

[Re: Inu Yasha] The title character, a half-demon and vicious fighter, wears a magical artifact that ambiguous love interest Kagome (and she alone) can use to forcefully and comically throw him to the ground with a single word ("Sit, boy!").

My reasons: He's not refusing to defend himself or psychologically incapable of it, he simply has no defense against the enchantment; she can use it whenever she wants to; this is not Achilles' Heel; and it's a deliberate copy straight out of Journey to the West, where it's two guys. It could be a case of convergent evolution, but it's still not the same thing.

Guy Smiley: Um...overanalysis much? It could just be Rule of Funny and Double Standard and much of this isn't even about the actual trope so much as a thesis about the differing psychologies of men and women.

Original Article:

No matter how good he is at martial arts, his girlfriend can slap him silly. Or pound him with a Hyperspace Mallet. Or thwack him with a bamboo practice sword.

But only if she thinks he really deserves it. Even if he doesn't (from Accidental Pervert to being assaulted by another girl)

Adam850: you've got to be kidding me with this example:

"her also gives suzaku a more traditional slap before when threatend to forcefully drug her to get answers about lelouch, since it didnt work the first time (he actually punched her in the gut and tried it anyway) she stepped it up a notch the next time (which he didnt fight against since even he felt he deserved it)"

Austin: Apart from Dragonball, has this trope EVER been subverted? Like a character who normally puts up with it just has a really bad day, and refuses to take the abuse? It seems surprising that it's always played straight, especially given how bitchy many of these characters are.

Austin: Not only is Shinji a completely normal person, he's also a wimp. That picture isn't an example of this trope.
