Describe Spice And Wolf Discussion here. No shan't.

I'm switching all the instances of Horo to Holo, in line with what appears to be the official English version. I'm aware there's a Spell My Name With An S entry, which I'll tweak slightly. I appear not to be a member of "everyone" since I agree with the change. I'd particularly like to rebut

"Anyway, Holo has science-fiction connotations (being generally regarded as the abbreviation for "hologram"). It just doesn't work. It's like naming your kid "Moon Unit Zappa."

See that this might be a valid criticism if holo existed as its own word in the setting, but it obviously doesn't; it's a medieval/early renaissance time frame after all, so how could there be sci-fi of any kind beyond what we might think of as steampunk? Holo is far a more delicate sound than Horo so it also fits her much better for that reason.

Anonymous: "official English version"? Source or it didn't happen. I know that stuff is licensed but so far nothing has been released. After searching some more I found the Spice And Wolf novel page on the Yenpress homepage and guess what: They're writing it Horo.

PS: Even The Other Wiki has switched to Horo and "Every R is a L" is close to a dogma over there. I'm changing it back right now

ILP: Hm... by "official English version" it seems I meant "de facto Japanese Romanised version". I wasn't really paying attention to what I wrote so my bad. Thanks for the actual source. Here's one in return: Click on Holo Of course, it calls Chloe Kuroe So Yeah.

P.S. Official site says Holo, although you really have to squeeze that stone to get the blood out. Head here and look at the page source. It's about half way down.

P.P.S. Funimation are using Holo.

Urutapu: P.P.S., The novel's summary on Amazon uses Holo.

I don't really see how the anime can be termed Adaptation Decay, I honestly don't. You'll need to explain it in more depth.

The_Barbarian: "Holo is far a more delicate sound than Horo" - that is just an opinion, I think Holo sounds ridiculous even without the "hologram" implication, which is a valid point, not in-universe, but to the viewers. R vs L doesn't matter except in how it ends up sounding, and the holo name collision is enough reason not to use it, IMO. I am reluctant to bring it up without any actual numbers, but I suspect the larger percentage of the fan base uses Horo anyway. I have seen "Holo" only in offical sources or places that are explicitly following the offical sources (the other wiki, etc.), and occasionally as a troll.
