It is a children's book though, it's pretty violent and it's even The Protagonist of the story... showing the usually nice protagonist like that is even unusual for adult books..!

What Do You Mean, It's for Kids? does not mean what you think it means. It's a trope about a Periphery Demographic. Nothing to do with "Violent" or anything.
