Can we get a source on the "Oo T was planned to have Dating Sim elements" trivia, please? I've Google'd until my Googler was sore . . . and I can't find ANYTHING that supports this. Closest I've found were a couple comments saying that they'd "read it somewhere" . . . which I wouldn't be surprised was *here*.

I know we're not formal, and all, but I'd rather not spread misinformation, either. 8~(

I'm pretty sure this is trivia, but I don't know where to put it... it turns out, a clip of the Arabic chanting from the original Fire Temple theme is still used in all versions of Ocarina of Time: it's Bongo Bongo's voice. (Play it faster to hear it properly.)

Shouldn't we create a page dedicated to the Manga adaptation? I mean, it would neatly separate the game from the manga so we won't have to worry about intermingling non-canon materials with it.

Can we remove the spoiler tags from this page? I'm asking because after 13 years, at least three major re-releases, and CONSTANT usage in future games, trying to hide anything from this game is just pointless. Thoughts on this?

Every comic is someone's first, every Linkara video is someone's first, and every videogame is someone's first. Ocarina of Time may be 13 years old, but a lot of people haven't played it yet. The recent nature of the 3DS version makes it even easier to experience the game for the first time.

It's not fair that people who haven't been exposed to a certain work be removed from the equation of spoilers because of how popular said work is. Sure, Super Smash Brothers spoils Zelda being Sheik... but it doesn't spoil the quest to gather the Sages, the Deku Tree's death, Navi's disappearance, Ganon's survival of the first battle, or Mido's forgiving of Link.

Also, there are some 30+ year old movie entries that are spoiler-checked, fame notwithstanding (The Thing comes to mind).

The following entry relating to this game is on Prison Episode:
  • In the Ocarina of Time the Gerudo throw Link into some sort of cell, leaving him all of his equipment, and no matter how many times he escapes and gets caught again, they just throw him back in the same cell. With all of his equipment.

Now, bear in mind that Prison Episode is defined as a prison-centered installment of a series not otherwise about prison; this is more along the lines of a level. In that trope's discussion page, on the other hand, battosaijoe claimed that a level should count if it makes up a significant enough portion of the gameplay, and kjnoren claimed to have looked through the video game section removing the more obvious non-examples.

In any case, would you say it qualifies?

Jack Slate going to prison for for a quarter of the game in Dead to Rights was a Prison Episode. Link getting tossed in jail for 30 seconds every time you screw up a stealth mission? If that counts, then every time anyone is temporarily captured counts.

How is it a remake when it still uses the same code as the N64 version and the only thing that is changed is some graphical and model changes? The existing code was modified so that the game would run on the new platform, the existing models were altered with additional polygons and such, etc. Therefore, this is an enhanced port. New code was not written from scratch to create this game. UI is par for the course for any game going to another platform. This is a not a true remake unlike The Twin Snakes or R Emake on the Gamecube. Hell there's not even any new content that many true remakes add to the game to feel more cohesive, like in Soul Silver, Mega Man Powered Up or Maverick Hunter X or Metroid Zero Mission. I just do not agree with the remake label...otherwise this seems like the laziest remake ever.

To be fair it does include the Master Quest campaign which before had only been available on limited Collecter's Edition discs and mirrors the dungeon layouts for added replay value. And it's quite significant to completely redo 2D sprite based background graphics into 3D polygonal backgrounds. If the R Emake had done that, it would have garnered a lot more interest.

How frequent is Navi's Anti-Poop Socking message in the 3DS version? (I haven't played that version yet)

The Videogame namespace says it's every 15-20 minutes, while the Character Sheet claims it's one and a half to two hours.

Didn't answer my question at all. Please read it properly. What's the interlude before she said it again? I'm not shelling out hundreds of pounds for a 3DS and game just to fix two vastly different statements.

I'd say it's much closer to an hour interlude, although I haven't ever bothered to keep tack of the number of minutes.
