So let me get this straight. Sailor Moon & Dragon Ball because of their dubs, Yu-Gi-Oh & One Piece because of 4kids, Naruto & Bleach because of their quality, NGE because of its themes & ending, Code Geass, Fushigi Yuugi, & Valvrave the Liberator because they share the same author, & everything else for unknown reasons. Do you think there's a reason for everything else?

Let's add a subcategory for Pokémon.

Concerning one of the examples for The Big O: "The doppleganger Roger bot was another, especially once it starts mimicking Roger's 'Big O!' activation call. It was a plan by Beck, so you can't expect too much seriousness, though"

Seeing how Beck is pretty much the comic relief at that point of the show, it was probably supposed to be funny, and thus doesn't really count as narm.

Re High School Of The Dead: Is it appropriate to list an entire anime?

No. If there are enough examples to crush a small dog when printed, then it gets a subpage. The example you nuked was incomprehensible anyway.

Cut this from the Bleach entry and put it here. Anime and Manga are separate pages on this index, and so I'm not sure how applicable this is to this page.

  • In one translation, it wasn't "BANZAI!" It was 'LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!'
    • That has to be a joke...it just has to be.
    • "BANZAI!" literally means "LIVE LONG AND PROSPER !". It was a traditional blessing towards the japanese emperor. Compare with "LONG LIFE TO THE KING!". But since "banzai" is a known word in the West, using it felt unseemly to western viewers. (The best Woolseyism so far is "Praise be to Aizen-sama!") The timing is also a little odd.
  • Another translation rendered it as "HOORAY!" Which is a fine thing to say if you're at a birthday party, but when you're dying...

Cut this and put it here. Apparently, at least some of these eyecatches are deliberate humor. We need to think about this one before reinstating it.

  • Whoever decided they need an Eye Catch featuring someone saying "FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST!" in a very weird, very loud voice needs to be smacked. The effect ranges from irritatingly jarring to hilarious, especially when it interrupts a dramatic scene.
    • FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST!!
    • This troper has been fully too embarrassed to watch Brotherhood in earshot of my roommates because of this. It's completely inappropriate EVERY TIME.
    • During a particularly serious moment, interrupted by "Full Metal Alchemist <3 <3 =D". Completely kills the mood.
    • They do occasionally have fun with this like a shot of Winry taking a bath, or the Mannequin Soldiers doing a "See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil" pose

Re the Chocotto Sister example: The Panty Shot may be Narm. The Fridge Logic on the age of the character getting the Panty Shot is a "Funny Aneurysm" Moment...
