I'm wondering if we should split the page into two sections - one for the anime/manga and one for the card game. True the page is about the show, but I think more can be said for the real life TCG here.
Hide / Show RepliesI will be able to do that as long as my account doesn't get edit banned.
Troper PageI see that tropes pertaining to the games are kinda non existant. Someone mind creating the section?
Hide / Show RepliesInformed Ability: Mai Kujaku/Valentine.
- Mai was the dueling Designated Victim, if anything.
Considering that she was one challenging and tough opponent in ALL the fights that she losed not importing her opponent, her skill is not of the "informed" variety.
Hide / Show RepliesI concur.
She was put up on the Fallen section of The Pantheon under Informed Ability. I tried arguing against it on the discussion entry for The Pantheon, but the troper who evidently put her up there was too strident in his/her opinion.
Though she was still a victim of The Worf Effect. Her loss still served the purpose of demonstrating Yami Malik's threat level.
Edited by azul120Tecnically, this was not to show that Yami Malik was powerful, was to show that the God Cards were powerful. This fight showed more that he is DANGEROUS than one tough duelist- the battle turns clear that outside the God Cards and the ability to affect the opponent directly he is less tough than Mai.( By the way, i joined you in the Pantheon discussion page.)
Edited by MagBas- Jesus Christ on fifty Ritz crackers, why are so many people so goddamn negative? Why do so many people refer to next to everything in this series as Narm?
Calling Your Attacks: "DARK MAGICIAN, DARK MAGIC ATTACK!" "BLUE EYES, COUNTER WITH BURST STREAM WHITE LIGHTNING!" and so on ad infinitum. Also, the page quote, from the very first episode. Several of these attacks even have their own cards, which require their monster to be out. Mainly used for important monsters early on, with smaller ones just getting descriptions of what was happening, but later in the series and on through GX and 5D's it reaches silliness of epic proportions.
In most cases, it doesn't even make sense to call the attack. Each (monster) card has a certain amount of attack points. They could call it "moon healing escalation" and it would be the same. Probably intended as Ruleofcool, but it fails.
- Hey, guess what? It's nice to know that you think the Attack Calling is Narmy, but you don't have to go around inserting your opinion into the entry like it's fact. "Probably intended as Ruleofcool, but fails"? Really? Really? That's your take on it. Other people don't feel the same way.
- Seriously, read through this page— Yu-Gi-Oh is presented as something quirky and charming, like a 60's Kung Fu movie. It's not presented as an actual anime that can be taken seriously. It's stupid and not worthy of your attention because LOLZ CARD GAMES. Look, that's its thing. It's the concept. Naruto's "thing" is ninja. If you don't like ninja? Great! Don't watch Naruto! And don't tell fans of the show how stupid it is because it has ninja as a main device! Hey, coincidentally, ninja aren't the only thing Naruto's got going for it. It has things like characters and a plot.
- I'm sorry about this long pointless rant but I guess I was just kinda pissed off.
Would the two-episode filler between Duelist Kingdom and Battle City, where the Big Five send Kaiba into the virtual-reality Duel Monsters video game that he created so that they could take over Kaiba Corp, and Mokuba, Yugi, and the rest of the Five-Man Band have to go into the game to rescue Kaiba be an example of Foreshadowing, since it exhibits similar characteristics between the season three filler arc, in terms of location and the villains that are used? And on that note, would the Big Five be considered The Dragon to two Big Bad s, Pegasus in the Duelist Kingdom arc, and Noah in the Virtual World arc?
Okay, who's been messing around with my brain?
