Would this trope apply if a game has an individual stage with no bosses, while the other stages do?

I have been wondering this, and even had the idea of YKTTW'ing that idea for a new trope page listing such examples.

Some such examples:

  • Hellsinker Segment 3 Lead has no proper endboss (that is, one heralded by a Boss Warning Siren), while the rest of the stages have bosses.
  • Super Aleste Area 11 is the only area in the game without an endboss.
  • Sonic 3 & Knuckles features Carnival Night Zone Act 2, which does not have a boss when playing as Knuckles.

Tropes are not bad, yet the example of on Uncharted 3 says it 'suffers' from this trope.

Removed this:

  • Uncharted 3 suffers this really bad. The series is not exactly known for Boss battles—but they usually form a part of the setpiece levels in some degree or another. In 3, however, while the setpieces are undeniably awesome, the closest thing to boss fights in this game are basic fistfights against a guy who has a bit more HP than usual...

Can someone more familiar with this game rewrite this example to be less whiny?

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.

Rewritten. All that had to be said was the "the closest thing to boss..." part.
