Changed this line:

"For the less zany versions of punctuation via vertical impact, see Flower-Pot Drop and Anvil on Head (which incorporates items like the 16-ton weight). For the anime equivalent of these, see Drop the Washtub."

to

"For cases of objects literally falling on people, often for comedic purposes, see [etc.]"

The old version was written as if this trope is literally about dropping cows.

Plonking this here, since I don't know enough about the work to judge whether it's an example or not, and examples can't be arguable. Twisted all to blazes and back, but not arguable.

These all involve literal cows, and I'm not familiar enough with the works to know if it is or isn't being used properly (and they're not explained well enough to tell):

  • Used in Disaster Movie, first in the tornado scene where cows are dropped one by one on Iron Man, Hellboy, and the Hulk (but not before the Hulk sheds his pants), and again in the overly long ending gag where various characters say they are dating another character (even the ones that died during the actual movie appear here alive and well), finally climaxing with the chipmunks being hit by a falling cow right after Michael Jackson announces that he's dating them. This sounds funnier out of context than it actually is, though...
  • One episode of Im Alan Partridge saw a cow dropped onto Alan in his boat.
  • This.

BTW, I'm a chick.

Gong show / Vaudeville Hook: These aren't "dropping the cow," which is when the bit gets really silly once it starts to get unfunny.

I might just take this to the repair shop.
