"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI've just hear it in the Columbo - Ashes to Ashes episode. It occurred when crematory oven doors are being open to burn the evidence. :D
perhaps someone can find a sample of the sound to link too. I'm trying but can't find one.
Which door sound from Doom is the "Doom Doors" sound? The one used for slow doors or the one used for fast ones?
One could also call this trope "Daggerfall Doors", since the characteristic door screech&metal-thump sample from Daggerfall is frequently used in fantasy/historical movies. Also I believe the cast-spell sound from Dag is present quite frequently in fantasy.
Unfortunately I don't have specific examples at hand.
Hide / Show RepliesExcept you've got the order of events in reverse. The sound came before Daggerfall.
Being in a Japanese-produced work is not enough of a difference to warrant its own trope.Anybody else watch Modern Marvels? I could SWEAR that both Doom Doors sounds are played in quick succession at the end of the theme song. (Specifically, the last 4 notes) Listen to it again, see if I'm right or rightly insane.
