Similarly, there was the '50s Cap who attacked anything with the faintest whiff of Communism, but that was retconned so that it was a test subject for the Super-Soldier Formula who became a bit unbalanced and ended up thinking he was Steve Rogers.
I've read those stories (they are in Atlas era Marvel Masterworks). Like other superheroes, Cap fights villains because they commit crimes. It's true that Communism is used to explain why the villains commit crimes, but Cap doesn't do anything that he wouldn't still be doing even if the villains weren't Communists and committed the crimes for other reasons.

Would someone please fix the country headings so that they don't overlap the box on the right? I tried to fix it but I'm not sure how.
