It lacks the "tragedy" part :/
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upI noticed that Garp is classified as having Conqueror's Haki under his section. However, as far as I know, it was never directly stated in the story in actual words, as opposed to how it has been done for every other user. The only evidence we have is a visual representation from his attack. Which, even then, is a little unclear since Oda has been known to use the black lightning effects for attacks from non-Conquerors (one example is when Ulti headbutted Usopp). I'm just wondering, should we wait until it's actually stated in words before we classify him as a user? Thoughts?
Edited by DeeeFooSomeone created a One Piece: Marines - Special Science Group, which clocks in at about 57,165 bytes in total. For reference, the Marines page without it clocks in at 162,197 bytes and with it is about 214,738 bytes (300,000 bytes being around the point where a page can become too long). Since I haven't seen this split discussed yet, should we keep the science group page? Or should we merge it back into the Marines page until it hits the Too Long warning?
Hide / Show RepliesI think we should keep it. I have a hard time thinking of Vegapunk and the Seraphim as Marines.
My brother is proof of God's existence, because Satan is clearly real.I also think we should keep it. Even though the Marines page wasn't that big in terms of bytes, it was still getting rather bloated with characters and could be hard to navigate (at least without CTRL+F). Easy navigability for casual readers should also be prioritized on character sheets.
I think keeping it makes sense. Especially because Vegapunk's defecting to save his life/lives.
It really should have been discussed first, but I’m in favour of keeping it for now.
nvm bout sentomaru exceeding sweet commanders in haki, anyone expecting to see him in wano?
Edited by lancelot22 Hide / Show RepliesHim appearing in Wano didn't happen, didn't really expect him too either
Edited by IronBlock2Two things to discuss: -Vegapunk is either spoiler free but with the warning, or no warning with spoilers. What do we choose? -While it's probably better to wait, should we consider "Stella" different from the "original" Vegapunk?
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give up Hide / Show Replies"Stella" is just present Vegapunk's codename, not a different character. He and his past self are the same man at two different points in time, so I don't see any reason to split their entries. Though I'll still wait before editing the page in case someone disagrees; plus IMO it's best to wait until the next chapter officially releases to see whether it adds new info.
I do agree that Vegapunk's folder should be spoiler-free with a warning. As it stands, there's too many spoilers to properly hide them, as they are given away by both the site rules preventing spoilers in intro texts, and the trope names themselves. It'd be a lot more efficient to remove all spoilers from Vegapunk's entry and update the warning at the top.
Edited by totoofze472For the first question, I brought up this earlier and I agree Vegapunk's entries should be spoiler-free with a warning up top. Since the whole arc is spent revealing information about him, he's basically a Walking Spoiler, and honestly anyone who would click on Vegapunk's entry would know they're getting spoiled on something.
For your second question, I'm under the impression that "Stella" should be counted differently from his original body since "Stella" has most of his brain removed and placed amongst his six Punks. And if the Punks get their own sections, I wouldn't see why Stella who's basically another part of Vegapunk's overall personality like the Punks are wouldn't. That being said, since it is his original body there is room for argument to keep the tropes the same between his past and present self, and I'd say it's probably better to wait before coming to a conclusion.
Ok, I think we should then remove all the spoilers in the folder and add the warning on top
For Stella-Original Vegapunk, I agree that it's better to wait
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upNow that chapter 1067 is out and has clarified things, I believe even more strongly that there shouldn't be separate entries for past Vegapunk and "Stella"; they're indeed the same man.
Bonney and Jinbei mention Vegapunk's head used to be a lot larger, Vegapunk explains why that is the case, and his satellites are referred to as his clones. With this info, continuing to refer to his past and present selves separately would be silly; it'd be like making a separate entry for Kuma before he was lobotomized.
Edited by totoofze472Alright with the new information Chapter 1067's given us, I think we have enough information to make a decision regarding past and present Vegapunk. I agree with totoofze, both sections should be merged together, specifically since Vegapunk still has access to all of his brain so he can't really be different enough personality-wise to justify the split.
Agreed Maybe we can make a Vegapunk foldeer and Punks folder (a non-reader wouldn't be spoiled that they're part of Vegapunk's personality and their existance don't change the perspective of the story)
There isn't an impossible dream, there are only people who give upGiven the recent developments and focus regarding Vegapunk and how much of a Walking Spoiler he is and since I imagine there's going to be a plethora of spoilers in the future regarding this character, is it fine if we just make their entry spoilers-off and just put a warning for unmarked spoilers at the top of the page?
Hide / Show RepliesI think it might be better to give Vegapunk his own page since he's really seven different characters, or at least the science unit
Edited by ThereAintNoMountainIf his folder reaches 40k bytes then giving him his own page might be worth discussing, otherwise I'd wait until the page starts giving the "too long" warning before splitting anything.
Since https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tropers/fishysaur state this as impulsiveness, what do you all think of this example?
