I feel like the character page pictures for Deugan and Emela... shouldn't be them as Lone Wolf and Water Temple Guardian, if we're pretending there was any mystery about that from the start of course. If we aren't, then there should be some serious spoiler-detagging.

If anyone's wondering, I'm adding [[invoked]] tags to the alignment tropes so they don't set off YMMV flags; it makes an invisible anti-flagger appear.

This is also one of the few series where Character Alignment is actually canonized, so it would not fall under The Great Character Alignment Debate.

Please help me make sure these alignments are correct by checking in-game Encyclopedias as the game is updated!

Edit: The reason for that last line up there was because there are several Character Alignments that are pure speculation without canon support, i.e. Gaspar, Melchoir, etc. Not sure if I should zap them, since their alignments will probably be revealed later anyway.

Going ahead to zap unconfirmed Character Alignments during the YMMV move, as well as zapping Complete Monster and Kick the Dog for Rohoph since they are by definition not Well-Intentioned Extremist acts (He is still, ostensibly, a "hero", or at least not a villain), zapping Complete Monster for Moric since he has a Freudian Excuse disqualifying him (breaks the third Complete Monster requirement.)

Is Vehrn really a Strawman? Yalortism is obviously a parody of Christianity, and Vehrn is therefore a parody of Christain fundamentalists, but I don't really see him as being a strawman. Mardek does criticize a few (very general) religious beliefs in his convos occasionally, but beyond that he just seems like a lighthearted parody, not a serious target to be used to practice religious arguments on.

Agreed, a Strawman is by definition a non-parody caricature of a viewpoint.

Can anyone add Character Portraits to the pages? I would, but I'm completely inept when it comes to technical things like screenshot editing...

I would, but I have no idea on how to add pictures yet. I need to do some research on the T Vtropes F.A.Q., I guess. I've mostly been operating off of copycatting and my knowledge of tropes.

There's a tool for uploading images to the site. For the wikicode to put them in, I'd look at another page with Character Portraits and copy-paste and replace the URL...

I hate to do this, but I feel this needs to be revived because we are still in desperate need of images and people seem to have forgotten about it.

About the whole "What do you mean Rohoph won't be fought he's like a major villain now!" Yes, that's true, but thus far in the story, he still hasn't been fought yet. Until it's absolutely confirmed (in like chapter 8 maybe), I want to keep it as it is.

Hm...about the Elemental Powers tropes. I included them due to the fact that everyone has an innate element, and therefore has at least some characteristics of that element. But I suppose that if they're tropes about having actual powers, then it shouldn't count...

What do you think the final verdict should be, people?

(Person who deleted some of them, sorry if I overstep boundaries) I didn't think they did, because when I looked at the tropes I interpreted them as being actual powers (I.E. Elywen being able to summon Tsunamis or such) instead of merely being affiliated with the element.

Some of the other characters I was rather iffy about keeping their powers too (I.E., S'slenck and Deugan only have 1 Earth attack each, and it's just "slash with this affinity"), but I decided against deleting those. I'm not sure if the Elemental Powers tropes should even have been added to Gloria and Mardek because that particular trope has always been used more as a "go to index" instead of an actual one.

Okay. Now that we've filled out most of the characters, who agrees/disagrees to adding the characters I listed under "possibly"? (For reference: Mugbert, Lilanea, and Social Fox)

Add them all. Mugbert will no doubt play some part soon and Social Fox played a very important, albeit post-mortem part.

Also, we should probably tack a few more people off the encyclopedia there, as well. The first-mate from the spaceship in Xantusia, for starters. Maybe make a group entry for the various shamans. And the cool French guy, Jaques will probably play some sort of mentor role, so why not give him one, too?

No, Jaques doesn't really do much... And you have to remember, the tropes that apply to them are most important. Even if they have minor importance, if they have little or no tropes applying to them, we shouldn't put them here, especially not on the assumption that their roles will be more important later on. The shamans don't really have enough tropes applying to them either, and are unlikely to be visited very often in chapters 4 and beyond.

I do agree that Social Fox should be added, though.

(Seriously, Mugbert? He is a weak and pathetic idiot that does absolutely nothing in chapter 2, and only has a small cameo in chapter 3. I really, highly doubt he's going to do anything important. And if Jaques was going to be a mentor, he would have done so already; Mardek's already the strongest warrior in the Knighthood.)

Well, I meant a supportive mentor. I suppose you're right. But I can't help but feel that Jaques will play some sort of role.

But no, I'm serious about Mugbert. His weapon is listed as a greatmace. I can't help but feel that you'll at least fight him one more time for some semi-important reason. Psuedo takes a lot of supporting characters who were barely important at all and gives them major roles. Remember Gloria? She was plain, uninteresting, and only seemed to serve as the foreshadowed replacement for the Canonia Shaman in Chapter 2. Then Chapter 3 rolls along, and she's not only recuitable, but indispensable.

I'm not saying Mugbert may be extremely important or recruitable, but I think he will end up playing a role, at least.

About the "September versus December" thing, I didn't change it because of the age gap, I changed it because Meraeador is 31, which, in my opinion, does not qualify for "December" territory. That's more like 50-60, and the trope page did say that varying degrees like that exist.

Should the crystal guardians have their own folder? They tend to be characters in and of themselves, and have multiple tropes applying to them too. I'm not sure what we'll do in Emela's case, though...

Naw. They don't have character profiles and possess very few lines. Maybe if they appear in the next chapter, too.
