Have you tried asking acrobox?

It's a decision from this thread https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13258997110A98996400&page=93#2315

Basically, it's decided that Badass Grandpa can already fit in with other old tropes (Old Master, Old Retainer, The Patriarch, etc), making it redundant.

There really should be an easy to find page that states Edit Reasons must be provided when deleting things from pages. The only one I could find was on the TV Tropes Glossary, under "Edit Reason".

@homogenized — Here's the page to help you with that: Edit Reasons and Why You Should Use Them.

While I'm all in favor of edit reasons, people who want to police the wiki should at least try to stay aware of the cleanup projects going on. The "Badass" cleanup has been going on for years, and seeing someone start work on a new Badass trope should come as no surprise.

Ditto for edits involving Action Girl, which has been a problem-magnet forever.

Not everyone pays attention to the forums. And of those that do, not everyone pays to the Projects, short and long. Plus, new folks don't know all the details of the site.

I'd rather have someone ask here than assume vandalism and revert. That gets messy.

Although one way to help with spreading the word is mention the cleanup and link the thread in the edit reason AND the discussion page. Even commented out notes as needed. Open and obvious communication short circuits issues like this.

That's why I said "people who want to police the wiki" rather than "everyone". :p ;)

(At the very least, I'd hope that someone who knows enough to check for repair shop threads would also be willing to learn to glance at short- & long-term projects too.)

Mouschilight said he checked the trope, not the forums. My guess would be looking for banners or discussion page notices.
