Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Well, The Legend of Korra has Ho Yay for Korra and Asami during the first and second season. While The third and fourth is Ship Tease for the two .
(Numbered in order to respond to each point)
- I think it depends on the particular example. For Ship Tease, I'd ask "If gender and sexual orientation were ignored, would this situation be Ship Tease?" For Ho Yay and Homoerotic Subtext, I'm not really sure since there's the "intentional" aspect there. I'd ask whether the Word of Gay happened because of the Ho Yay and pandering to a Target Audience that prefers the Ho Yay over the character being straight. (I'm not sure if that's even answerable, honestly. That seems like a fourth YMMV article altogether.)
- I think that is Incompatible Orientation?
- I would think that — in both cases — it'd be Homoerotic Subtext or it wouldn't be Bait-and-Switch Lesbians or Hide Your Lesbians. BASL and HYL seem mutually exclusive from Ho Yay...
^ On 2, no. The other character isn't necessarily confirmed straight. Plus, we're talking about whether these examples go on the Ho Yay, Ship Tease, or Homoerotic Subtext pages. They list examples, nevermind if it's unrequited or not.
I know there's a Ho Yay Cleanup thread but it's pretty dead. I know Ho Yay is accidental and Homoerotic Subtext is not. But...
1. If the character is given a Word of Gay, then how do you decide between whether it's Ship Tease, Ho Yay, or Homoerotic Subtext? What about if they get a Relationship Upgrade in a future work? Case in point, HoYay.Revolutionary Girl Utena seems more like Ship Tease than anything.
2. If only one character is explicitly gay/bi/etc, what does it go under? For example, I've been debating on whether to move the Yuki/Togo section on HoYay.Yuki Yuna Is A Hero for a while, as Togo is confirmed to like girls (more specifically, Yuna).
3. In works that use Bait-and-Switch Lesbians or Hide Your Lesbians... Ho Yay or Homoerotic Subtext? HoYay.Maria Sama Ga Miteru and HoYay.Sound Euphonium come to mind considering how it's obvious the artists/writers weren't being coy.
