Well, The Legend of Korra has Ho Yay for Korra and Asami during the first and second season. While The third and fourth is Ship Tease for the two .

(Numbered in order to respond to each point)

  1. I think it depends on the particular example. For Ship Tease, I'd ask "If gender and sexual orientation were ignored, would this situation be Ship Tease?" For Ho Yay and Homoerotic Subtext, I'm not really sure since there's the "intentional" aspect there. I'd ask whether the Word of Gay happened because of the Ho Yay and pandering to a Target Audience that prefers the Ho Yay over the character being straight. (I'm not sure if that's even answerable, honestly. That seems like a fourth YMMV article altogether.)
  2. I think that is Incompatible Orientation?
  3. I would think that — in both cases — it'd be Homoerotic Subtext or it wouldn't be Bait-and-Switch Lesbians or Hide Your Lesbians. BASL and HYL seem mutually exclusive from Ho Yay...

^ On 2, no. The other character isn't necessarily confirmed straight. Plus, we're talking about whether these examples go on the Ho Yay, Ship Tease, or Homoerotic Subtext pages. They list examples, nevermind if it's unrequited or not.
