Might still be room for the specific "reflecting fire" version, as I've seen it a lot myself- my mind immediately jumped to Sheriff Cooley from O Brother, Where Art Thou?: This is one of the Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane things that the film uses to hint that he might be a demon or the devil himself.
