Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I've fixed the concerns you voiced here :) I didn't actually know there was a rule against sub-leveling tropes, since I see it done all the time I thought it was fine. I'll be sure to keep that in mind in the future. I wasn't the one who originally posted the Death Seeker example pertaining to the character that you had concerns with, somebody else posted it and I was simply moving it to that character's character page. Even so, I deleted the offending error and will be more careful in the future when moving tropes around.
And I'd like to say for the record that your previous concerns with my posts were for conversations in the main page and spelling and grammar errors. It would appear that I HAVE improved on those counts, seeing as how you haven't seen anything worth voicing a concern for in a few months :) I would like to thank you for helping me to help TV tropes. I will also endeavor to mind my bulletting in the future.
And in doing so added yet another error. The other errors with your edits to that page still haven't been fixed.
Sorry to hear that ): Could you please point them out to me so I can know where I went wrong?
It should be readily apparent which errors you made in your edits. You've been a troper for years now, so you have no excuse not to have read and studied the rules.
Well I addressed the specific issues you raised (I moved Know When to Fold 'Em to a first-level bullet, removed the Death Seeker example, and there should be no ZCE's to the best of my knowledge. At the very least, none that I myself posted.) As an insider to the particular trope page I am somewhat blinded, and you're the expert Rules Lawyer around here, so a little guidance would be much appreciated :)
You've been a troper for years now. It's generally expected for tropers who have been here that long to understand the rules. If I have to hold your hand through it all, fine. The "Know When to Fold 'Em" line you replaced has Word Cruft in it.
In addition, you mentioned earlier that I hadn't "seen anything worth reporting". Am I to assume you're under the impression that I have to keep a total eye on you 24/7? Because I'm only one person and keeping an eye on a handful of people 24/7 is just not doable.
Since you're bringing it up now, I guess I should have a look at your edits other than what's on Characters.Backstroke Of The West.
When someone asks for help, and you insist on berating them instead, nothing will get fixed. Help, don't hinder. To err is human, we all make mistakes. Hounding someone for anything less than perfection is the wrong way to deal with the issue, especially if they are willing and asking to learn.

Thank you for pointing out the issue, good sir. I'll go reword the edit and double check the rest of mine on the page for any other lingering errors.

No, of course not, at least not permanently. I just suspected you would have kept a partial eye out at least for a while, to make sure my edits were up to the good quality of TV tropes. I apologize if that sounds overly demanding of me. To be honest I didn't know you were a fan of Backstroke Of The West. Thanks for looking out for the characters page, I'm actually really glad somebody finally made it so I'm pretty fond of it :)
"Since you're bringing it up now, I guess I should have a look at your edits other than what's on Characters.Backstroke Of The West. "
Good idea. I'll do the same to make sure I haven't let anything slip.
Thanks for pointing me toward the Word Cruft rules, The Nerf Guy. I'm a somewhat wordy person by nature. I'll try my best to curtail that in the future.
Thanks for the backup, sailing101, but The Nerf Guy does have a point. The rules should be followed :)
Edited by RaxisActually, I'm not a fan of JustForFun.Backstroke Of The West; I have not seen it, nor have I heard of it until yesterday. This query is on principle.
Additional errors I found in your edits and links to them (they may require scrolling):
Your edit for TearJeker.Naruto is a clear violation of indentation in that you added a third-level bullet under a second-level one without actually making a new list.
Your edit for JustForFun.Backstroke Of The West on August 25th has Word Cruft and contributes to an existing indentation error. The Word Cruft in this case is you referencing another example by saying "above"; examples, even sub-examples, can't do that with either above or below since pages get rearranged all the time; therefore, such words are not always accurate.
Your edit for VideoGame.Bravely Second has a measure of violation on Handling Spoilers; it's a minor case of swiss-cheese entry.
Those are the more recent and more relevant edits I could find.
"Actually, I'm not a fan of Just for Fun.Backstroke Of The West; I have not seen it, nor have I heard of it until yesterday. This query is on principle. "
Ah, I was just curious. It's still somewhat obscure outside of the Memetic Mutation it created (Do not want).
Thanks for the corrections!
You're welcome.
As this query is complete, I am requesting a lock on it.
Some of this person's recent edits on Characters.Backstroke Of The West (courtesy link) seem questionable.
Notably, they've added ZC Es, violated Example Indentation In Trope Lists (he added "Know When to Fold 'Em" as a second-level bullet under "Run for the Border"), and some misuse (the "Death Seeker" example they added reads: "Claims she'd be happy to die alongside Allah Gold.").
I have sent them notifications in the past, and while they did establish they would improve, these edits display errors.
