Your mama may have had eyes in the back of her head, but our admin team just can't see everything at once. It takes a village to make sure TVTropes is running the way it should, so when it comes to spotting tech snafus, dreaming up a better digital mousetrap, or just diagnosing plain old asshattery, the quicker you let us know something's up, the quicker we can address it. See a bug? Point to it and we'll squash it. Have idea for a new feature? Post in the Tech Wishlist.

What operating system/browser are you using? That might be a good place to start.
TRS Wick CleaningI'm having the same problem just now. I'm using Edge on Windows 10.
It doesn't matter which page?
Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Chrome on Windows 10 for me, I find that it's often a sign that a page is close to needing to split.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Chrome on Windows 10 as well. Pages I could edit with no problem started lagging for me just a few days ago. I don't know if something changed recently.
Having this exact issue. Windows 10, latest version of Chrome. Interestingly, there's no memory or CPU overuse happening with this according to my resource monitor; it seems to be either network-related, app-related, or site-side. Happens most severely on large pages but all pages have at least some slowdown from my experience.
Edited by Dirtyblue929I haven't encountered much noticeable slowdown on my end. I'm using Firefox on Windows 7.
THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN!Just had a laggy typing experience on The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie - Microsoft Edge Windows 10 here.
I have this happen on and off, pretty sure it's on Firefox and Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 and Android 9... Sometimes I wonder if turning off red underlines could help somehow.

Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods Of Incremental)Happens to me pretty sporadically, Google Chrome Windows 10. When it happens though it pretty much locks me out of editing because the whole page freezes, and I never know when to expect it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessBeen happening to me, Chrome and Windows 10. Kinda frustrating.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Throwing my 2 cents in: happens to me near-constantly when editing a page. Windows 10, Chrome. Size of the page is irrelevant.
same thing has been happening to me recently. I've been editing character pages from Codex Equus and I admit, some pages are kinda long, but I've NEVER encountered the lagging problem until now. I got an adblocker extension to deal with it, and nope, didn't work. Been using Chrome the entire time
Edited by Randomfan11Piterpicher's red-underline hypothesis makes sense, as the browser has to move formatting for the underlined characters, and that can take a while. I know I've had similar issues on Wikipedia before.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.hmmm, it seems getting rid of the red underlines worked for me
I went into Chrome settings and disabled the spellchecker. While it probably means more spelling errors for me, it also stopped the lagging I would encounter during editing
Same here. I just edited a couple of pages and didn't experience any lag. Thank you!
Happens to me when I edit Bob's Burgers. It happened when I edited it last Sunday, and it's doing it again right now.
I'm also having this problem a lot, has someone got an idea of what should I do? Edit: I've disabled my spellchecker and everything got fine, thank you!
Edited by good-morning oh hey how are you doing? Can attest to Chrome/Windows 10 having major slow downs, regardless of page size
Character Specific Page cleanupHappens to me to. Wiki's basically impossible to edit.
It happened to me until I turned off the spellchecker. Spellchecker is useless here as it ignores bluelinking and such.
PSA: Turn off the spellchecker whenever you edit a TV Tropes page.
Edited by ExaskliriTried turning off the spellchecker and it works. Still, would like to not have to.
Chrome Windows 10 here, having the slowdown issue on a page I created, as well as on Criminal Minds' character pages. I'll try turning off spellcheck, see what happens.
Well, after a few months of lag issues, it randomly stopped lagging today. I don't know if Chrome fixed something or if TV Tropes fixed something, but I'm very grateful.
I just ran into this problem while trying to edit Suspiciously Similar Song.Music. Typing is extremely slow (it takes the page several seconds to catch up with my moderate-speed typing), and Chrome's profiler seems to say it's getting stuck somewhere in a keypress event.

Tv Tropes works just fine for the most part, but if I try to edit a page it starts lagging; if I type a letter, it takes like five seconds to show up if not more. It also ONLY happens to the editing. I can switch tabs just fine and everything else is running normally, but editing is painfully slow
