That's not a screencap from anything. That's me, man.

Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.... Diamanda Hagan reviews... *shudder* ... Chirpy.

Well I have something new to look forward to on Tuesdays.
I like how it was posted on the site on her wedding day. Love is in the air.
Anyway, Demo Reel seems an interesting enough consept, I hope they don't fall to too lazy parodies, though. Tacoma's Bane voice was the standout moment in the trailer, for me.
Ehh... it's too early to judge it, but the trailer didn't impress me. Sorry. I'll still tune in for the first episode, though.
ETA: I do hope this runs for a good while. None of Doug's shows have ever impressed me right out the gate, and that includes early episodes of Nostalgia Critic, but once he hits on a formula, his work rapidly improves. Ten or twenty episodes could mean the difference between The Nostalgia Critic and The Bjork Show.

Groovy.Okay, intellectually I know the woman in that trailer isn't Katie Holmes . . . but I'd swear to you she was Katie Holmes.
I'm very amused. My biggest worry was that I wouldn't like the new people and want more familiarity, but that guy and woman seem funny and it even looks like Doug is playing straight-up douche rather than his normal type of mentally fucked Jerkass Woobie.
Wouldn't remaking popular films go against TGWTG's goal of avoiding copyright infringement? .....I suppose if they don't use the movie footage...
This falls even more blatantly under fair use, since it's parody, rather than comedy review. Plus, they don't seem to be using footage from the movies themselves.
They literally can't get in any copyright trouble as long as they stick to parody. This is the same thing shows like SNL do every week.
Now I'm really waiting for the hour premiere. Seeing Doug as an egotistic director looks pretty funny.

Every time a fairy says that it doesn't believe in humans, a human child dies.Psst, it'll be an hour.
So Demo Reel has the same concept as Be Kind Rewind, except these guys are doing it on purpose.
I was not really impressed by the trailer, there are some funny bits but not much else, but it's too soon to tell yet, so I'm looking forward the first episode to see how it works.
I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.Getting away from Doug for a second, Maven tries to think up ten good things about Twilight.
I realized that about half of the literary classics referenced in the first item are Shakespeare plays.
A script is not the same thing as a book, America.
Wait, technically it is a book. It's just a book in the same way a bunch of sheet music bound between covers is a book.

Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.Eh. There's a solid foundation there but nothing too funny in the trailer itself.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. It looked to be the case anyway, but Rob replied on facebook that the movie parodies only take up half the story and the whole show isn't based on those.
It really does remind me of Be Kind Rewind, now that I think of it, though probably without the Big Damn Movie plot that shows up halfway through it.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Yeah this is Be Kind Rewind all over again, the only redemption to this so far is if Nostalgia Critic comes back as Muppet God and does a review
That or one of the old TGWTG members signs on for one of these.
Come on, that's not right. I get apprehension, but Critic's story is over and the new people deserve a chance, not just "I want to see the contributors I've become accustomed to."
Well, Brad is going to be hosting a game show on the site. That good enough for ya?

Well, specifically saying "hour-long pilot" usually tends to indicate that it's a special premiere episode and that its length is part of its extra-super-specialness, just going by past experience.
Also, I've been meaning to ask, is your avatar a screencap from The Start-Up?
