well damn now I have no idea if I should drop the arc. >_<

If anyone wants to yank control of it from me, I'd be fine with that.

Plenty of newcomers jump the gun, it's okay.

So do you mind telling us just who your character is then? It'd really help us in getting off on the right foot.

Everyone here knows who my characters are, right? Because it seems there are a ton of newcomers around who aren't familiar with the ones I'm playing. (Of course, no one is familiar with Muffet yet, but she's new.)

I think everybody knows who they are.

EDIT: This is a "Just-in-Case" sort of character after watching a leaked Mighty No. 9 build and then watching the DLC level she comes from:

  • Name: No. 0/Ray/Raychel
  • Sex: Female
  • Race: Gynoid
  • Age: ???
  • Gear: Claws, unstable arm cannon.
  • Powers: Can absorb microscopic robots called "Xels", which without she'll decay.
  • Skills: Rather little, favoring her strength and speed to get something done quickly.
  • Physical Abilities: Fast on her feet, and can lift some heavy objects, but due to her own
  • Quick Traits: Aggressive, rather untrusting. Constantly "hungry" due to lacking a "Xel core".

Also, Shiny's Number 4 in the next round, so next match is Lust vs [Shiny char].

Unless people would rather move on to another world. I'd be fine with that.

Thank ye, Fokes, for I am nothing without an editor.

So, Fokes pointed out that the tourney as it is is kind of impossible, but I think we figured out a thing.

So, the second round will instead be decided in 3-way fights from the winners of this first round.

And, so that we can refresh people (and update the tournament list)

  1. Boy Lightning vs Risky
  2. Lust vs Doom Lord
  3. Igno vs [Etheru's surprise character]
  4. Gold Roger vs Gunblaze
  5. Rally vs Dave (by Shiny's request)
  6. Zarx vs Most likely the generic villain of the arc.

So I take it Lip can't be in the tournament after all?

Etheru Since: Jul, 2009
#174585: Jun 5th 2016 at 7:36:43 AM

Well there were signups the week before the tourney started due to me trying to give everyone a shot without forcing everyone to go through battles with me and my chars issues with the superheroes in the tourney, but I couldn't figure out a way to get Lip to sign up since the signups had already occurred at this point and she became interested in signing up after the (mostly offscreen) signups had already happened a week earlier.

EDIT: Also, to prevent things from gettin' boring, I'm thinking of setting up sidequests other players can create. Just pop a PM/ping a Steam Message my way and discuss with me about it, and then I'll see if it works or not.

Not a huge loss, although I don't much like the idea of tournament arcs in this rp since it leaves the people who aren't fighting with very little to do.

Have you seen how long it's taken for me to actually advance the tournament?

Everybody loses. :P

EDIT: A modification of Ra(y)chel if I place her in WAOA:

  • Name: DWN 0/Ray/Raychel
  • Sex: Female
  • Race: Gynoid
  • Age: ???
  • Gear:
    • Claws: Ripping, mending claws that send bad guys crying home like crowdfunders who screwed up their marketing campaign.
    • Unstable arm cannon: A powerful cannon inside her right arm, but can't be used very frequently.
    • Stinger tail: She has a tail that can transform into one that allows her to impale enemies.
    • Yellow cloth: Doesn't really do anything and is mostly there for aesthetic.
  • Powers: Can absorb nanomachines, which without she'll decay.
  • Skills: Rather little, favoring her strength and speed to get something done quickly.
  • Physical Abilities: Fast on her feet, and can lift some heavy objects, although this can weaken depending on how recently she's absorbed nanomachines.
  • Quick Traits: Aggressive and not very quick to trust. Constantly "hungry" due to lacking a "Xel core" that should regulate her Nanomachines.

I don't like these "solo missions" either, for similar reasons to why I don't really like tournaments. It leaves the characters who aren't taking part in them (by nature, 99% of the cast) with literally nothing to do. I don't want to seem like I'm complaining, but Shiningknight and Fokias are not the only two people in this roleplay.

I guess it doesn't affect me that much because I've been napping for most of the afternoon, but I still don't like coming back to the RP to find that pretty much everyone has been locked out of the current goings-on.

You know how long I have gone without posting regular? THREE YEARS/ I am setting up something that's gonna be fun for everyone. Its just dragging a bit because of real life work. Its not our fault no one else is playing. Anyone could play theres other stuff to do other than my little escapade you know.

Now stop complaining or I will be gone for another three years

Midna, stop complaining about everything. It's getting on my nerves. :/

You are literally the only person that's bothered by the plot.

Honestly, I'm surprised everyone's been so patient with me in regards to the plot.

I feel bad that I took so long to get back to it now.

Well, Etheroo my bro, certain people have a thing called a life. Life is what unfortunately gets in the way of roleplaying sometimes. And sometimes, we gotta make sacrifices for our life to go well. But for reals, it's not something I'd ever hold against you. I'm the type of person who plots by the seat of his pants with minimal preparation, and even then it can take hours to actually properly do a chunk of plot. Unless you were disappearing for like a month without warning, I can be as patient as necessary since it's usually worth it in the end.

Besides, I know how Shiny tends to operate too. And he usually has one person helping him to properly set up things before he looses the rest of us on his plot. So I don't see what's frustrating about it beyond immediacy.

Alright so. I have a new character idea, he's a dude that drives stuff from a video game I've been playing for a bit. I am not sure if the vehicles are presented here are too powerful or not, so I'm gonna be doing test runs for the next two plots (and have permission from the GMs of those plots) to see if they're too versatile/strong for their intended uses. Any nerf ideas are also acceptable; even with "one use ever" I am kinda edgy about the AK pulse generator so I can remove that if peeps think it's too powerful.

This is a pretty big character sheet. Because two vehicles. There's your warning.

  • Name: Modesto Pires
  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: Pires.
  • Gear: Personal belongings (which are quite decadent), cigar kit and lighter, and a .45 sidearm with two magazines and one bullet spare.
  • Powers: When do I ever play people with superpowers?
  • Skills: Extremely competent ground vehicle driver, specializing in the operation of tanks, mechs, and antigravity combat vehicles. Excellent combat tactician, mostly from experience on past operations as a Brigador. Also very good at maintaining those vehicles.
  • Physical Abilities: Not much beyond the average.
  • Quick Traits: Reserved and a bit twitchy around those in higher positions than him. Eight years of service in the NEP being completely negated by one comment around one officer does that to a man; this was what spurned him to become a Brigador. Greatly enjoys vehicles of all types, and tinkering with them to unlock greater abilities. A man of fine taste in all things involved. Being a mercenary his morality is... questionable, but for the most part he won't willingly do amoral things unless specifically asked to.

  • Name: Touro
  • Appearance: It's pretty low-res, I know.
  • Role: Heavy mech. Used for the big fight plots; it's strong, tough, unsubtle, and it costs a lot of money to run the engine - take it out of the closet only when necessary.
  • Offensive Capability:
    • Tank cannon. Strong, highly explosive (usually; it can fire special ammo), and quick to reload, but it only has a 15 round magazine. Must be smartly used.
    • Pulse laser. Not as effective against most vehicles but will still vaporize most people-sized targets it hits. Works in a pinch for anti-air but isn't too good at it.
    • STOMP. Touro's stomp is powerful; when it stomps with force it usually destroys what it steps on. Of course, this is a planned action; not every step is that tough.
  • Defensive Capability:
    • Heavy armor.
    • KNEEL. The Touro can "crouch" to protect its leg joints.
    • Shield generator. The shield is "tall"; it's basically a second layer of heavy armor, and it can recharge off of the ions left from destroyed shield generators. There are drawbacks; it's radioactive so you need protective gear to work on it while active and in the open; it takes 30 seconds to charge the shield and 14 hours to cool down after shutoff; and diesel is added to the coolant to let it recharge; this means if the coolant fails, so does the generator - violently.
    • Smoke grenade projectors. The Touro can shoot off smoke to conceal itself or distract enemies. It's got enough for whatever comes it way, but it takes time to reload; it has to be smartly used.
  • Mobility: It's a little more maneuverable than what you'd expect but not by much; it's still a heavy mech.
  • Extras: The Touro's weapon/equip mounts are hardpoints - it can swap the cannon, laser, and smoke grenades for other equipment if necessary.

  • Name: Mongoose.
  • Appearance: Oh god my eyes
  • Role: Powered assault suit - this is what Pires is usually driving. Acts as heavy backup for infantry operations.
  • Offensive Capability:
    • Sabot-firing recoilless rifle. The armor-piercing ammo makes it great against medium-size vehicles, but it doesn't work well against giant things and with no explosives it's not very good against massed tiny things.
    • A machine gun. Nothing fancy here, really.
    • Stomp. Not as strong, but you probably don't want this thing to curbstomp you.
  • Defensive Capability:
    • Light armor. Despite being a powered assault suit, this can still take one good hit from an anti-tank weapon.
    • Shield generator. Same type as the Touro, just smaller; the shield is thus less powerful, though it takes the same time to spool up.
    • Stilts. Leg extenders let it stand up.
    • Damaged audio-kinetic pulse generator. This thing has seen better decades, and it's damaged enough that its next use will destroy it. On use, it generates a blast wave 10 feet in all directions around it; this flattens the environment, rends light vehicles, and does nasty things to exposed organics. It's not good against reinforced structures and heavy vehicles. It's also not a good idea to use indoors, unless you like collapsing buildings and certain death.
  • Mobility: Much. The Mongoose is tough to turn at speed, but it's quick and nimble otherwise. It can't jump that well, however.
  • Extras: Same as the Touro - the Mongoose is modular and can accept different abilities and weapon combinations.

"Seven is here too, dressed like the concept of choosing clothes that look nice together was an arcane secret far beyond their grasp."
