I'm intrigued.
The Bizarrchitecture toward the end of that trailer reminds me of Tartarus. The protagonist shows up in P3P, and the games seem to have similarly dark moods... I wonder how much of a connection there will be.
Torment liveblog is still hiatusing. You can vandalize my contributor page if you want something to do.Whats the philosophical theme going to be I wonder. In 3 it was defiance/sacrifice/death in 4 it was Facing yourself/camaradarie/truth. Think its going to be sex/relations/renewal in this one?
^ Maybe lust/obsession/destruction? I'm just getting a major unhealthy vibe from all of it. Though... it is Megaten. Major unhealthy vibes are the norm.
i. hear. a. sound.True, but do you think the ending will be a "good" one? The world has already been saved, now perhaps its time for things to start altering with normal peoples lives.
I didn't know David Lynch made a video game.
I'm kind of disappointed this isn't P5. Though that's mostly because it doesn't look like I'll be able to play this without my parents going ballistic as soon as they step into the living room.
This looks awesome. Damn, Vincent is hot.
After watching the trailer I wanna play this really badly, it looks so bizarre and yet so...amazing. Aargh.
Chances are, I'm not actually wearing any pants right now.I think that Atlus is going through their Neon Genesis Evangelion phase. Expect Persona5 to be an extremely motivational and over the top game.
After watching the trailer in a larger window, I have determined that the little boxes and circles which keep popping up at various points say "WAKE DIE DREAM MURDER LOVE SLEEP NIGHTMARE" over and over, and that sometimes Nightmare and Wake are replaced by NIGHTMAREAWAKE; no doubt the distinction is significant in some manner.
Also, I'm willing to bet that there will be Shadows in this game, if the shadowy figure with the shattering mask at 1:21 is any indication.
The Danse Macabre CodexJust an added point: the Japanese voice actor for the main guy played Spike in Cowboy Bebop.

Umbran Climax◊It's fairly obvious she's a sexual predator of some sort (possible succubus) and he's an innocent victim. Or I guess so, anyway.
I have to agree with you, there. Of course, this being an Atlus game there's probably some horrible secret locked away in the protagonist's psyche that he'll have to discover in order to escape alive. I bet the mummified corpse in the first half of the trailer is either him, or one of Catherine's previous victims.
Also, I have to wonder what he's screaming at at 2:07—is she dead, transmuted into some hideous abomination, what?

The Danse Macabre CodexWell, seeing the game appears to be named after her... Perhaps you have to do something beyond simply bringing her down to win?
It looks to be heavily relationship based, so far.
Proud member of the IAA What's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish?Bringing her down? Perhaps loving her in spite of it, forgiving her for the things she did to you.
Sucking the life out of men. Turning them into sheep. Or dried husks with sheep eyes. Sounds weird enough to work.
Could end up as a number of things, what with probable multiple endings. He could become a dried husk, a living sheep man, they could live happily ever after despite everything, maybe she leaves him/he leaves her and he's a stronger man for surviving her, maybe she leaves him and he's neither a mummy nor a sheep (physically) but an effectively lobotomized man just going through the motions. Maybe he becomes her pet. Maybe she's possessed.
Ah, Atlus.

i. hear. a. sound.I just noticed something—at 0:37, the part where that ram drops out of the sky and hits the pavement of the game's logo, the girl is split down the middle. While the left, female half is clearly Catherine, the right, male half is that screaming woman with the glasses from the very end of the trailer.
What could it mean?

The Danse Macabre CodexOn that note, does anyone know what she was screaming at the end?
i. hear. a. sound.Guys, you have it backwards. Those aren't sheep, they're rams.
But rams are sheep. Specifically uncastrated male sheep.
...or am I being oblivious to comment context again. That happens a lot.
Edit: We don't see their junk! They could be wethers!

Proud member of the IAA What's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish?^^Those sorts of horns don't grow on castrated sheep.
The difference is in the way a Ram acts in contrast to a sheep.
@ Sullen That's a better than the thought I was having, which was just "Ram. "Ram" her? ...hurr hurr hurr"
