I think that the strong continuity makes it interesting. And another thing- Oh a fire truck.
That too. It's interesting how a series with such an episodic nature still amnages to pull of such contuinity. Not a single detail seems to be wasted.
But I also really like the sense of humour. It's just always funny. Especially when they go What Do You Mean, It's Not Awesome? on everything.
especially that one time Keima went balistic over his dream being torn apart: LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD LOAD!
Still, the current arc is in my honest opinion the best in both contuinity and humour. Probably because they use the former for the latter.
It is indeed wonderful - I find I'm just waiting for it to start sucking or for Cerebus Syndrome to hit, because there's no way this quality can be kept up forever.
Particularly LOL-worthy parts in this arc:
- Keima-in-Yui getting addicted to otome games and having a Heroic BSoD over this
- ...then getting over it and using them for inspiration, like he does any other game
- Subverting Man, I Feel Like a Woman by getting bored of it
But I wish the thread title had been spelled properly. :-/

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Awww, zut! Fragging typos.
keima is the prettiest girl in the Heosole Worl! Or how was the Tzetze meme?
It's I AM THE PRETTIEST GIRL IN THEW HEOSL WOR iirc.
I guess it is.Having said that, this kind of stuff is good too. Bifauxnen Yui! *hee*

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.I don't call the recent developments Cerebus Syndrome, I call it 'beginning of the end'. The original setting (unlimited ghosts to be captured) might have provided for unlimited material, but I doubt that any writer could actually use that and still keep up the quality.
That's why they have introduced a)Diana's sisters and b)some vague threat. This can lead to a) the end and b)a cool climax to accompany that end.
I don't think that the writer intended Cerebus Syndrome, but it is needed for the sake of letting this series end naturally.
I was only grumbling a bit at the appearance of more serious elements because nearly all the lighter manga lose something when they make the transition. Perhaps I was a bit hasty in declaring CS.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Well, at the very least, the last arc was just awesome. Maybe it was the last of the 'traditional' arcs, before the whole CS kicking in, but if it was, it was a great finisher.
I guess that should count for something as well.
Edit: It's somewhat jarring to see his previously "infallible" strategies,er,bouncing off.

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.He says he's testing her reactions to see where he stands on her radar, and I buy it. It helps that he has no shame whatsoever.
They really bumped up the fanservice in this chapter. Godsdammit,I'm not into that kind of thing, but Hinoki's making it hard to resist.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away."I feel like I've been dreaming for a week"
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.^Yeah, that line was really funny. Shame that it was the funniest thing in the whole chapter, though.
It sorta feels like the author is running out of steam, really.
More like this arc is just bad. The previous one seemed okay, but I guess they can't all be winners. It's sort of odd how slowly the main plot is creeping into it though; we've had two red herrings in the two arcs since an actual plot was mentioned as a possibility, and no payoffs. It sort of adds to the "waste of time" feeling you get from this arc.
I'm willing to give this the benefit of the doubt. It's the first time he's been outmanoeuvred so badly, partly because of Murphy's law, partly because he's approaching the limits of his techniques.
Plus,I think all this is going to be rendered moot when $SHADOWY_FIGURE appears on the scene. The story is going to change, and soon.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.^Well, we already predicted that, didn't we? It's unavoidable, I guess. Still a damm shame, but unavoidable.

Don't ask me why,but it feels like Keima's losing his Chessmaster tendencies and gaining a connection with the world.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.Huh. I actually liked this chapter. I haven't liked anything in quite a while. What an odd sensation.
So yeah, this arc get's done by the next chapter. Here's hoping that the next arc will be better.
Oh, and we haven't discussed the upcoming anime yet. What's up with that? Well, I think an anime could work really well, if they put on some funds.

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.100th chapter is suitably epic; Kusunoki delivers a punch of love; Keima learns An Aesop.

Hey guys! I felt like making a topic for The World God Only Knows. Because there should have been one years ago!
But first: The Spoiler Statute (first devised by wanderlustwarrior in the Manga/One Piece thread): 1. Whenever there's a full chapter on a trusted site (One Manga, Manga Helpers, etc), first poster who sees it posts it immediately. 2. NEVER post statements about the chapter in the post that you link to it in. 3. Spoiler tag for the first five posts after the link to the chapter (so that we don't see the spoilers before seeing the link itself). 4. No need to spoiler tag after 5 posts. 5. No spoilers from untranslated chapters, tagged or not.
Now that that is out of the way: This series is just awesome. It's one my very short list of works that are pure genius. It features girls, but no ecchi. It's features devils, but no typical shonen fighting. It features an anti-social nerd who actually choose to be a recluse, rather then being born like that or being bullied.
It features every single one of my favorite tropes, but without the downsides!
Don't you guys agree that the latest arc (as of now untill chapter 88) is the very best arc as of now?
