I don't really wish things were memes. Memes are fun and all, but if a joke gets repeated too many times, some folks start Hype Backlashing on it, which ruins it for me.
I'll own to referencing the 436 and l'care memes outside of the LG15 fandom, but I'm content to keep them as weird things I say rather than attempt to force them on the rest of the Internet.

I wouldn't be surprised if many of the things we now consider "memes" in the internet sense were once just random jokes people had amongst themselves, and they kinda took off.
That said, among the Silent Hill fandom, I would be surprised if GIANT FACE
is not a meme.
