Turn 34

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

Everyone: Cathari has made a map of dubious quality. None of your characters have entered into situations where they would see a map like this, but it’s here just for reference. At the moment, it only shows part of the world along with major political entities. As there are several regions that are not governed by organized statehood, some of the regions are instead labeled by cultural groups. As for the states themselves, major cultural subgroups aren’t necessarily reflected in the map. Stripes obviously represent occupied territory. Additionally, the map doesn’t necessarily show the world in full political detail. The three question-marked locations are distinct culturally, but none of the characters have visited these regions nor have they learned the names of these places from other peoples. The layout of this map has many implications and will very likely raise several questions. it’s entirely possible I contradicted earlier information. It’s also possible that the climates and stuff don’t match up with how they should appear, though they aren’t shown on this map.

B Ra Hi An 1: (6) You try convincing the shade that you are a loyal follower of Imari and that you had eventually intended to betray the wandering group. The shade sheathes his saber and bows with his shield in front, "I apologize for that. Very well then, you must come with me." He gently grasps your hand and motions for you to move along with him.

At this moment, the swordsman turns towards the two of you and says, "So, you’re a spy then? Explains why you tried sneaking up behind me. Well, I don’t really mind. But I’ve got one tip for ya. If you’re going to try a rendezvous with the other side, don’t do it where I can hear you." With a horrendous grin, he unsheathes his massive sword and holds it out in front of him with both hands. Sturm, the Wandering Mercenary, has turned hostile towards you.

Rivux: (1) Despite your injury, you continue making your way over to the forest, looking ahead to see if you can find something that will help you blend in. However, the warrior quickly catches up to you and elbows into your side, causing you to tip over. Although she didn’t seem to have enough momentum going in the direction of her attack, the strike felt like it had the force of a sledgehammer. As you struggle to get up, the warrior places the crossbow back on her back and then reaches for the longer sword. For an instant, you see the flash of her steel katana as it flies right towards your neck.    You died.    Respawn? You can keep your race and class if you want but if you feel it’s not working that’s fine. I’ll just have you know you’re due for an upgrade sometime soon.
Lord Herobrine: (2) She wasn’t hinting at any particular destination. Each one simply has you head towards a different direction and I base future events n that. You thank the priestess and begin to head off northward, following the mountain chain. You circle clockwise around the first mountain and you see mountain housing the elf’s shack off to the distance. However, shortly after, you see about three wolves stepping towards you from amid the trees. They growl at you as they get close.
Kayne: (2) As you begin making your statement to the shades, the bomber tosses one of his pots at you in the middle of the gap in the guards’ formation. You swiftly dodge it just as it’s about to hit you. The pot explodes some distance behind you, lining part of the exit with fire. As you begin to move out, you feel something strike your left foot as you turn, and you fall right onto your side. You see that the guard that you had sliced in half has stuck his saber into you.
NE Sgamer 190 (6); K.U.B.S. Abomination (3): Now that you’re a fair distance away from the abomination, you continue making a retreat through the forest, despite your significant injuries. From behind, you hear another blast of lighting striking the monster. Additionally, you hear something land on the ground and snap. Due to the large number of trees and your running, you cannot see what just happened. After several minutes of running, you seem to have gone deep into the forest and you cannot find any of your comrades.

Shortly after, you see the blonde-haired witch appear from behind one of the trees.    "KYAHAHAHAHA!!!"    She snaps her fingers and you find yourself unable to move. Your axe comes flying out of your hand and strikes a nearby tree. After another snap, you find a hole has appeared underneath you and you fall right in. From the sides, you see millions upon millions of cockroaches spill in. You feel every single one of them crawling all over your skin. Eventually, they fill up the hole, reaching all the way up to your neck. They seem to emit some sort of foul odor penetrating deep into your nostrils. Additionally, you see Chuckles reappear in front of you and laugh along with the witch. Although you can struggle to move, the cockroaches seem to be holding you in tightly. The witch says, "Are you having a little trouble there NES?    KYAHAHAHAHA!!!"

After about a minute or so, you see several of the shrumen gathering in the area. They look over to you and seem to talk amongst themselves, mostly trying to cope with the recent devastation. Eventually, you see the two kobold heavy soldiers come nearby along with the axemen, followed by the mage. You don’t see any signs of the skirmisher though.

One of the shrumen says, "What the hell was that?"

The kobold squad leader speaks up, "I don’t know. Just be glad it’s not following us. We’ve lost too many men to that thing. Alright, we need to come to a consensus on where to go next. Either we link up with the soldiers guarding Ironrun or we head over to Al-Osam and inform the citizens and the guard of this attack. If the enemy is attacking over here, I’d say they’ve already taken Axehelm, though we might find some survivors if we head to town. What do you all say? Also, someone get the dwarf out of the ground."

Trip (5); K.U.B.S. Abomination (3): You begin running into the forest along with the rest of the group. After a few seconds, you hear another boom from the supercharged golem’s lightning attack. Should you turn around, you’ll find the unicorn’s head still facing you. One of the golems levitates from the ground and begins propelling towards your direction. However, it instead lands directly onto the skirmisher, flattening him and his shield. Wasting no time, you continue on into the forest. After running for a few minutes, you seem to have lost the abomination. However, you find that the dwarf has been buried into the ground up to his neck. The words on his neck seem to emit a faint, octarine glow. Off to the side, you see that an axe has lodged itself into one of the trees. Several of the civilians have started gathering in this area. The four remaining soldiers stand off to the side, positioning themselves near the buried dwarf.

One of the axemen says, "What the hell was that?"

The captain responds, "I don’t know.

The Space Phantom: (4) You lean on the bike stuck in the ground, trying to act like the damages aren’t serious. A few people look at you, but nobody seems to be particularly disheartened other than by the fact nobody knows where to go. Once the priestess comes out of the group and moves towards you, she makes a brief glance at your bike and makes some sort of arcane whisper. The ground in which the bike is embedded starts giving away until the whole bike is completely above ground. Although you couldn’t see the whole thing before, you now can see the front tire is almost completely smashed. The priestess turns to you, "Lead us so we may gather our strength with the others."
Philosopher: (2) After your statement, Qanis-Jindu laughs at you and then says, "Do you really think we would accept a human child to lead us? Our Rajahs have tried for many years to unite the twin domains without avail. You might have a few shaman’s tricks, but you have neither divine sanction nor royal blood; you would be seen as nothing but an usurper. And what of the human kingdoms? You two are the first two humans we have seen in years. They would have to travel by sea or pass through the northern desert to reach us, and then they would only weaken the lands of Qal-Andu."

The shaman says, "Now Jindu, I think you should stop while you’re at it. We wouldn’t want to incur the wrath of these two."

"What? You’re scared of a small, human child?"

Marisa says, "But why do we need protection from the unicorns? They’re our friends!" The two orcs simply turn and look at her.

No1mustevarno: (2) What’s with this amberlamps stuff you keep mentioning? You try talking to the trolls. One of the trolls on the side goes over to you and strikes you in your right leg. It says, "Quiet! Do nots speak unless we ask!" They continue dragging you along until the hole is in plain sight. One of the escorts begins climbing down the hole.

Turn 35

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

Rivux: (5) You respawn with the exact same race and class as before. You also have the same basic provisions and stuff. In addition, you have also gained the trait con artist. Due to experiences gained in your past life, you are now more successful when performing tasks involved with deception or bluffing people. You find yourself in what seems to be an encampment. You also seem to have spawned with your ring still intact. Right in front of you, you see a short lumber wall that appears to be lined with shields on the outside. It’s somewhat hard to see, but there seems to be a small ditch surrounding this. Beyond the wall, you see a forest past an area that seems to have been cut down. Far behind you, you see a large wooden structure. On top of this, you see a blue banner depicting a hawk and seven golden stars. In the nearby area, you see about three humans and one shrumen. The shrumen holds a small axe on his back but wears no armor. Two of the humans hold simple wooden spears in their hands while the other one has a bow along with a quiver. Only the archer seems to have proper plate armor while the other two seem to be wearing scavenged kobold mail along with simple helmets. All of them turn towards you. The archer says, "W-who are you? How did you get here?"

One of the spearmen, who was standing behind you, says, "He just appeared out of nowhere!"

Lord Herobrine: (3) You back up slightly and ready your bow. The wolves stand at a distance. However, after a few seconds of holding your bow tight, your arm becomes tired and you accidentally let loose an arrow. As you had been aiming at the center wolf, the arrow strikes the wolf’s back, causing it to tumble. The other wolves begin to charge you.
The Space Phantom: (6) As you get up back on your recently uprooted bike, you look over to observe Sam. After a few seconds, he stumbles towards you and gets up onto your back as you prepare to head off. By your will, the bike lifts itself off the ground, despite the damages. After a few minutes of flying towards the village from earlier before, Sam speaks, "Um, don’t ya think we oughta slow down? They’re sure far behind us." Although you briefly consider his advice, you continue on forwards faster, as you reason you would be able to scout ahead for anything.

After some more time, you see a large, grotesque hand shoot from the ground just ahead. It sprouts too quickly for you to react, and it rockets right into your bike with near perfect timing. The hit causes you to lose balance, but you quickly reach back onto your bike and use it to descent slowly to the ground. Unfortunately, the blow had also knocked Sam off you, and you see him fall towards the ground below. As you’re currently using your pike to slow your descent, it seems you cannot save him, and his body bursts on impact. You try distancing yourself from the hand, and somewhere far behind you, you see the evacuation group. A familiar voice resonates from the hand,    "KYAHAHAHAHA!!!"

B Ra Hi An 1: (5) You somehow try to convince the swordsman you’re still on his side via hand signals. The shade says, "What are you…" You see the swordsman make some kind of confused expression, followed by a groan. Then, he dashes towards the two of you and swings back his massive blade. The shade tugs at your arm and says, "Let’s go!" However after about a second, the swordsman makes a vertical swing and cleaves the shade’s body in half. Upon a closer look, the sword seems to be as thick as the exorcism scroll had been wide. Without magic or some other enhancement, you aren’t sure how this guy is wielding this blade.

Sturm speaks, "Geez, you sure are a pain in the ass to deal with. Now, you might want to stay back this time while I take care of things."

NE Sgamer 190: (Free) As you are stuck in a hole filled with cockroaches, you sit still for the moment. Several of the shrumen civilians start gathering around the edge of the hole with sticks. However, one of them comes out bearing a shovel and sticks it into the cockroach-infested hole. Despite the speed of the plunges, you don’t seem to see any guts coming out, nor do you hear squishing noises. The civilian keeps on digging, tossing the piles of roaches to the side, and for some reason, they don’t return to fill in the gap. In fact, when you see the insects land, they seem to blend back into the land and morph into piles of dirt. Eventually, the area seems clear enough for you to free yourself, and thus you begin to crawl out of the hole. Afterward, you retrieve your axe. Should you turn around, you’ll find that the hole is no longer infested with cockroaches. Also, Chuckles seems to have disappeared.
No1mustevarno: (1) You try distracting the trolls but just as you begin to speak, the one troll whacks you again, causing you to fall back into the hole. The troll going down climbs out of the way just as you pass it and you slam right onto your back. As you try to recover from the fall, you realize you cannot feel your legs, nor can you seem to move them at the moment. The other three begin climbing down as well. One of the slingers says, "Brings him into the chamber!"

Hmm... my quick deduction of this situation is leading me to believe this really is the rebel camp. Or at least a temporary base. Now let's see... I could tell them the truth of my revival... or I could mislead them...

I decide to tell them that my identity is of no concern to them, but I did encounter a danger outside these grounds that is far more important than I am. It was a Huge Armored Bitch that hits like a horse and is as merciless as an executioner. I tell them that I brushed death in that encounter and miraculously escaped before its stygian arms could embrace me, and that it is highly advised they mask their presence more in case she's out to eliminate more unaccounted variables.

...then, realizing I don't particularly know what part of the woods I'm in, I ask them where I am.

Turn 36

First time posts for this session require you to state a race and class of a Dnd/Fantasy RPG variety. This is an RTD with some continuity and I want to make sure you don't show up with space-themed stuff when that doesn't fit with the general theme. I also recommend reading through my previous posts to get a sense of how I run things and some of the things you don't want to do. You'll also get a sense of the stuff that's going on by doing so.

B Ra Hi An 1: (1) You don’t know about each faction to make an assessment. You also consider heeding Sturm’s advice, yet at the same time, you feel angry that you can’t do anything while he goes out and does heroic stuff. You’re also somewhat discontent with this guy’s attitude. Seeing as you don’t want to be completely useless, you pull out your dagger and charge over the hill. You shout, "Let’s do this… LEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY JEEEEEEENKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINS!!!"

From behind you, you hear Sturm say, "Goddammit."

Up ahead, you see the wagons stationed on the hill from before. Three archers pop their head up from behind and ready their bows. A few seconds later, you feel three arrows shoot into your gut and thrust you into the ground. Up ahead, you see several more shades start appearing from behind other hills. Sturm runs up in front of you and holds his sword up.

NE Sgamer 190: (5) You thank the shrumen who dug you out of the hole. Afterward, you sort of listen in onto the soldiers trying to discuss where to go. Eventually, the captain says, "Alright, it’s decided, we’re heading to Al-Osam." Off to the side, you see the mage reading through vis spellbook. After some time, you hear the mage garble something and suddenly you see a blinding flash.

After a few seconds pass, you find yourself, along with everyone else, in the middle of some sort of stonework village. The sky above is covered in twilight, and a huge mountain looms just behind you. On top of this, you see a towering fortress built with many arrow slits on its faces. Far ahead of you, you see the remains of a wall along with a gray flatland down below. Towards your right, you see another mountain. All around you, you see skeletons of goblins lying on the barren ground. One of them possesses bronze scale armor that shows significant signs of aging. Although it has lost its original color, it still seems to be usable. Considering you currently lack armor, you take it for yourself and wear it. Despite the fact it was meant to fit a goblin, it seems to fit comfortably. One of the shrumen civilians remarks, "Where the hell are we?"

Lord Herobrine: (4) You do not have a fire fist nor any sort of fire based abilities whatsoever. You also don’t have a dagger with you, otherwise you would have tried used it earlier when trying to make a shelter. You might be able to use your arrows or other equipment as improvised melee weapons. Still, you shoot the one closest to you, plunging right into one of its legs. The one you knocked back earlier gets up and begins charging towards you. The other one continues as well, but you quickly move over back to higher ground. You don’t seem to see anything else that could be threatening at the moment.
Philosopher: (2) You respond to the leader and ask what you would need to do to unite the orcs. He responds, "I’m sorry, I didn’t quite get that first part. Now, if you were actually serious about such a feat, you wouldn’t need to ask me. I’m sure you could easily think of a few ways to unite the twin realms. Of course, seeing as I’ve spent most of my days here, I don’t really know what’s going on at the border. That sort of information remains with the Rajah, his councilmen, and the army."
Trip: (6) You begin reading through your spell tome and try reciting some spells while trying to exercise caution. By this point, some of the shrumen have dug the dwarf out of the hole. Additionally, the dwarf has retrieved his axe. After the soldiers have discussed for some time, the captain says, "Alright, it’s decided, we’re heading to Al-Osam." However, during your recitation, you accidentally say one of the spells a bit too loud, and a blinding flash appears in front of you.

Once the flash subsides, you find yourself, along with everyone else, in the midst of some village situated on barren ground. The sky above is covered in some sort of twilight extending as far as the eye can see. Behind you, you see a large mountain stretching around, on top of which stands a towering fortress. Skeletons lay everywhere, and from the shape of their skulls, you can tell they belong to goblins. The dwarf walks over and scavenges some armor from one of the corpses. Ahead of you, you see the remains of a wall, and further out yous see a gray plains stretching beyond. Towards your right, you see more mountains. One of the shrumen civilians says, "Where the hell are we?"

Kayne: (5,3) From the ground, you pull the saber out of your leg and throw it at the distant bomber. It happens to strike right into his head and he collapses to the ground immediately. Following that, you pick up your axe and strike at the guard who recently attacked you. As the guard cannot move much, your axe cleaves him right down the middle. The guard behind you slashes at your left shoulder as you complete the attack, and the pickaxe-wielding shades move in to reinforce the rest of the group.
Rivux: (5) You try explaining to the guards your circumstances, leaving out the fact that you died in the process. In your description, you also mention the warrior’s appearance with some detail. Afterward, you ask them where you are. The shrumen says, "Well, that’s an interesting story. Can’t say I’ve ever met anyone or anything that matches that description, but I’ll take your word for it. This camp doesn’t have a name yet, but we’re somewhere in the Tujak woodlands. We’re right on the border to the Empire, and we form the first line of defense in case the lizards try going for a counterattack. We don’t really have the manpower or the stuff to make ourselves a proper fortress. If you’re looking to join up with Marduk’s forces, they’re somewhere north of here. Or you could stay here and help us with the garrison."

One of the ill-equipped spearmen says, "Now that you mention it, I do remember my brother saying something about seeing something with weird armor like that when he had been doing one of his midnight strolls. This was before I joined the liberation army, so I’m guessing they must be some sort of night watch from the old government. Anyway, you can rest here in the camp if you want."

The Space Phantom: (1) Getting back onto your bike, you try to challenge the hand in order to draw its attention away from the villagers. You lift up and hold your lance forward. A voice comes from the hand,    "Trying to be the hero again? Think you can save all those villagers? Kihihihihihihi… AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"    An additional appendage sprouts from the base of the hand. It morphs to reveal a single eye and grinning mouth along with two shorter arms connected to the hand by a skinless tentacle. The hand stretches over to the large crowd in the distance and scoops a large number of them. The rest of the crowd scatters while the woman who spoke to you earlier forms some sort of transparent barrier around herself. She tries shouting to everyone to dash on ahead and try avoiding the monstrosity as she tries warding it off. The hand then returns towards you, and you see that all of the villagers have been turned into dried corpses attached to the fleshy hand. Far below, another appendage connects to Sam’s remains and appears to be absorbing everything. The cyclops appendage’s arms begin growing and gaining bulk, and its hands seem to have gained claws.    "Too bad. KYAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Rhyme and Treason: (4) Good to see you’ve returned. I recently added a map so you might want to have a look at that. It’s at the bottom of this post. I made some annotations on Turn 34. You begin to carefully row the bow back towards the village. It takes you a while, but you eventually manage to return. One of the shrumen comes forth and ties your vessel to a stake on the shore. He says, "You looked like you had some serious trouble there. If you must know, you’re in Favi. Not a very big place compared to the city, but we get by. What brings you here and… what are you anyway?"
No1mustevarno: (Free) Instead of actually trying to take on the trolls with whatever capabilities you have left, you simply sit around and do absolutely nothing. Eventually the rest of the trolls come down and surround you. Another troll comes from within one of the tunnels carrying a bronze axe. One of the slingers says, "What is you and where dids you comes from? We will cuts you to yer bones-s if you lie to us."

Marduk? Well, that's pretty convenient for me! I'd shove off immediately, but... Ehhh, last thing I want is to get jumped by a levitating suit of armor in the middle of the night.

I accept their invitation to rest and thank them. Now that they mention it, I think out loud, my legs are kinda weak from pushing myself to run. I make a mental note to check my legs later for signs of any lasting damage.

Hmm... a town devoid of living entities? Seems too good to be true...

Action: Search the town for any ambushers. I don't trust this town if it skeletonized these goblins, and I do have a nice suit of armor that's used for use.
