I didn't think I liked Slice of life stuff either but I was kind of surprised to find I liked Not!
Fate Grand Order players will know me as Ryusei-Go.Picked up volume 20 today. Now there's a hard swing into creepy town.
I have a message from another time...Ha ha, that ends with Chapter 87, right? Told ya you were in for some shit.

Funimation didn't say they licensed the Soul Eater NOT anime, did they? I may have already mentioned this, but I do hope they get the cast from the first SE to reprise their roles, especially Laura Bailey. And FYI, I really don't have any problems with Maka, she's kinda like Hermione's darker long-lost twin sister, you know?
Also, what exactly is Slice of Life?
No word on any license for Soul Eater NOT yet.
Though if Funimation gets it, of course we all wish they'd make a dub where they'd round up the original English Soul Eater cast!
They already have the rights and are using them to simulcast the series. Not everything that gets a simulcast gets a dub, but this is popular enough as far as I can tell.
Oh right.
I'm stupid too.
I'm really late, but WOW, episode seven of Not! was off-model...oof. So awkward.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot...... are we talking about OLLLLL of Episode 7, or just the fighting shot? Cause to me, it was mostly fine.
Honestly, the whole series feels kinda Off-Model, so I don't really notice it anymore.
Episode 8.
.... wow, Episode 8. Aside from the Derpy animation, everything else seems to get better as of Episode 7 onward and I HOPE they keep this up til the end of the show!
Stein made probably the BEST CAMEO OF A SOUL EATER CHARACTER SO FAR, which is really saying something considering Sid has more screentime and more lines! Stein is simply way too awesome for a moe show like this!! What are you DOING here Stein! Oh right! Showing these writers how it's done! :D Thank you!
Also, it's great because we once again touch upon what the 3 girls should've been focusing on all along: deciding which one would be Tsugumi's meister, and getting to the bottom of who's been committing these crimes. So now she has until the DWM-Fest on Halloween to declare who's gonna be her meister! Progress. And heart-warming moments to boot at the end of this episode.

Wow, they are going past the manga. That's skipping from chapter 15 to about chapter 34.
I haven't read the manga, but they so far only TALKED ABOUT Tsugumi declaring a meister at the festival. I doubt they'd skip all that this soon!
Honestly, I kinda wish they wouldn't talk about it or would just resolve it. Unlike more traditional love triangles, it does actually need to be resolved, but has the problem that you lose one of your 3 characters. So you basically can't resolve it as things are now. So bringing it up when you know it won't be resolved for a long time is kinda annoying.
I'm kinda hopping for something wacky like Meme is both a Meister and Weapon and Anya ends up dual wielding or something equally ridiculous. Or whoever doesn't get picked should pair up with Eternal Feather while wearing a bunnysuit.
Odds are that this was just to remind the viewer that it's an issue that is yet to be resolved. It will, of course, be resolved in the final episode, or at the end of the second last if there's a cliffhanger.
Well, not just 87, though that's probably the worst of it. The whole volume was cover-to-cover creepy. Which, honestly, is something Soul Eater does very well.
Very fitting, then, that that volume in particular has a cover that appears to have been stained black.
I have a message from another time...Episode 9! A lot of singing, pumpkins and baseball and...was that a parody of The Hangover? (There wasn't a sloth in the manga.)
Meme continues to exhibit worrying behavior and memory gaps, and stuff continues to be somewhat intense while also being cute and funny.
It's up for debate whether or not Meme even remembers her own family, except in her sleep. Dude...

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Well, this is the manga that makes Kid's OCD a running gag.
Par for the course. Disturbing yet oh well tone.
I'm digging the comedy in this one, more and more screwball Soul Eater goodness.
The lack of cameos disturbs me.
... is it wrong that when seeing Meme in her pajamas in bed, I wanna motorboat that??
That kid was a stand in for us all.
Sloth is so damn adorable.
That sloth never appeared in the manga. Nice touch. And hey, a relative of Noah's.
Adorable pumpkin growing intermissions.
Meme writes home. In her sleep. So her memories are intact while she sleeps?
I'm now entering uncharted territory. What will go down on Halloween night...?

In the last manga chapter, Tsugumi found out her dog died; if that didn't happen (no one mentioned it) the anime hasn't quite caught up yet.
I've only watch the first episode of the Not! anime, and think I'll wait until the manga ends to watch the rest, so I'll probably be out of this thread for a while.

What if Blair was working in that casino when Meme was there?

Not much. Kinda irrelevant even if true.
I don't like Blair much, she serves no purpose whatsoever in the story. She's not even funny.
Thanks! I was thinking of giving the manga a try, and now I probably will. I'll try Soul Eater Not! as well (I'm not totally into slice of life but I think I should at least give it a fair try).
I don’t even know anymore.
