Now that I think about it, there's a fair amount of Continuity Drift in this series. Most glaringly, the German government apparently developed advanced cybernetics in the 1930's, then completely forgot about it.

Start from the beginning or from Part 3. Be warned that Part 1, while a good story, has a Rob Liefeld art style and some Narmful dialogue.

Araki was once interviewed by a member of CLAMP, believe it or not. The interviewer actually asked why Araki appears so young after all this time. Araki replied that he is a Ripple user.

I have no more to say.

[up][up] You have no idea how much that explains.

[up] That would be Rohan Kishibee and his Stand Heaven's Door.

BTW: Anyone think that Vento Auro was a bit of a Seasonal Rot Part? I mean, liked quite a few of the Stands, it had the best Stand names in the entire series (Metallica, Black Sabbath, and King Crimson FTW!) and the locals were nice. But Diavolo felt like a weak villain, it put too much focus on Buceratti, nothing really came of Gionro's linage, and Trish got screwed over when she had a chance to do something (She really should have been the one to fight Secco).

Also, is anyone else kinda confused by the fact that there exists only around 20-30 Jo Jo fics on FF.net? I mean you would think there would be a huge potential for fic writing, but what do I know.

Also, have any of you made up your own OC Stands or Stand users? The ones I came up with are in the Sailor Earth troper tales.

I just finished Part 6, Stone Ocean today:

Spoilers to be safe:

Oi, what crap ending. I think Pucci really went out disappointingly with that Weather Report trick (still he was much better than Diavolo). To be fair, those sort of "only one persons remembers the heroes' battle" ending are usually never a good idea.

I don't know, I think since he killed Dio, Araki's actual storytelling has been declining somewhat in favor of crazy Stand battles. Still overall, I'd say Stone Ocean was an improvement over Vento Aureo.

I started Steel Ball Run, not really much to say except:

Those FABULOUS character designs are kind of getting silly.

[up] Well, Part 4 had good storytelling. As has what I have read of Part 6 in my opinion. Part 5?.......Not so much.

Part 4 was still pretty strong, but had a few too many enemy Stand-of-the-week just wedged into the story for seemingly no purpose than Araki wanted to show them off.

Part 6, like I said was better than Part 5, but it had a few kinda dumb and over-the-top (in a bad way) plot twists and stand abilities.

@59 | Now, I actually thought that Diavolo was a good villain (then again, there are no main villains in JJBA that I dislike) and Buccellati was one of my favorite characters, so his spotlight-stealing didn't bother me as much as it did other people. Other than that, I'd have to agree. I was really hoping that Giorno's relationship to a previous villain would mean something, instead of basically being a footnote in his backstory. Spice Girl and Trish, like you said, were terribly underutilized (probably cause Trish was the token female).

One thing you didn't say, but which I feel strongly about, was the terrible (and I mean, terrible) ending. Instead of defeating the main villain through teamwork or skill, (or at least something that would have taken careful thought) Araki just has Giorno develop a horrendously overpowered ability, almost out of nowhere (Even Star Platinum: The World was better done). It just smacks of the author writing himself into a corner by making the villain too powerful, so he creates one of the biggest anti-climaxes I've ever read. By the way, can you tell how much I despise the ending?

I once came up with a Stand called Through the Fire and Flames, it made mini super novas.

I also came up with one called System of a Down, it nuked any electronics within a 20 mile radius.

[up][up] Oh yeah. I forgot about that ending. It wasn't just Gold Experience Requiem that got me, it was that they decided to go on a 3.5 Chapter long tangent on that stupid Rolling Stone subplot that went nowhere and explained nothing. It reduced Giorno's rise to the boss into a footnote, which really cheapened his entire character. I also thought Diavolo's ultimate fate was just way to horrific even for him. I mean, Diavolo was definitely not as bad as Dio or Kira, and they got significantly less horrific ends (Although Kira's demise came close, and I am not sure if Pucci's demise was worse than Diavolo. It's either Infinite Death Loop or being completely erased from existence)

With Trish, I really loved the ability of Spice Girls, and it was a damn shame she never got to use it more than once. Like I said before, she would have been the perfect character to fight Secco. Buccellati had no business getting another fight. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and his Stand, but he just got too many fights. Also, Dropping a bridge on Polneraff? (Kind of) What the hell Araki?!

I once made a stand that could take apart or open up any object, even humans, without any mess or problem. It's called Royal Guardsman.

I thought of a few others, but my biggest problem is that I accidentally made stands similar to ones that already exist. Specifically, ones similar to Kiss or Heaven's Door. There are so many stand powers in the series that it's hard to make sure my ideas are original.

To be fair, some of the canon Stands resemble other canon stands. Compare Yellow Temperance, The Empress, and The Lovers, for example.

Just threw a couple of my stand ideas on the Sailor Earth Troper Tales page. The idea of a JJBA/ Medaka Box crossover is weird, don't you think?

I'm got 99% caught with Steel Ball Run recently. Course, it may vary with how he ultimately finishes thing (hopefully not ending with a fart like Stone Ocean), but I think this is some of Araki's best work since Part 4.

Still, I gotta say, Stand battles have really gotten a bit convaluted.

Also, can anyone tell me what has happened in Steel Ball Run after Diego 's Alternate Self with The World pops up? Because it seems like alot of things happened after that. I just want to know, since there are no translations as of yet
