Yes, but I want something for my phone to watch on the bus.

Using the phone internet is a waste, IMO. Costs too much for how much data you get, at least where I live.
I have a smartphone, but streaming videos takes a lot of internet. So it'll be expensive as well as unreliable.

Mandé, ever since Naruto ended, and with one piece taking a break every other damned week, it feels like there's nothing to read.
Anyone know some manga that feels like The Wire? Closest pieces I know be Vinland Saga (a.k.a. Farmland Saga) and Billy Bat.
Basically, series that treat their characters like people, like genuine human beings.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.@gigarex: Zettai Karen Children for your Sci-Fi urges with creative usage of many Psychic Powers. Also look into Lyrical Nanoha because it is usually summed up as Gundam with a Magical Girl Warrior face lift for the Seinen demographic (surprisingly enough). Scrapped Princess also evolves into more of a Mecha show later down its line, but the initial story is still truly different from other fantasies which interested me all the way into the end.
These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else.@gigarex Do you like magical girl shows?
@The Handle what do you mean by "treat their characters like people, like genuine human beings"?
don’t call me nerdy [img][/imgThe enjoyment of Billy Bat makes me want to recommend Monster and 20thCenturyBoys, though I think Handle's asking for something ongoing, which makes things considerably harder.
And, yeah, 'treating the characters like human beings' is a pretty vague criteria. Like, does that mean 'character driven', or 'tendency to try to provoke questions about the nature of humanity' or 'down-to-earth but solid characterization', or something else?
i think he's asking for series with more nuanced, believable characterization. most anime and manga have very caricatured, exaggerated characters that are quite tropey and don't necessarily behave in realistic ways. basically something like Naoki Urasawa or Inio Asano's works, I would imagine.
I haven't seen The Wire but if you like Vinland Saga you owe it to yourself to read Vagabond. Easily in my top three manga of all time, and lucky for you it just got off a super long hiatus. Main character's development is awe-inspiring and the art is some of the best in the industry, bar none.

Hmm, seinen historical action series tend to have the qualities Handle is looking for. I'd suggest going with Manga/Otoyomegatari and Shut Hell, both are pretty damn good both in art and story.
My three favourite anime are Non non Biyori, No game no life and Nisekoi. I wrapped up a playlist with theses Anime on My Circle.Tv (number of my room : 278-80989-65 ), just enjoy it ! Do you have any anime you think that I could like? Join me on my room, you can share, add or replace your own anime !
@Lemurian
Have you tried the Animania app for Android? It lets you stream the episodes or download to your phone to watch later and it has good selection of anime to choose from. There's also the Mangania app which is the just as good but for manga instead.
Meh

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018I just got finished Mawaru Penguindrum, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and am looking for similar anime or just Mind Screw type anime that makes you think, with symbolism, metaphors, allegory, and focuses on the psychological state of the characters. I heard Onnisama E is good for those who liked the dysfunctional relationships in Utena without supernatural elements.
For dysfunctional relationships, mind screw visuals, psychologically questionable characters, gratuitous symbolism, and lots to argue endlessly over, there's always Madoka Magica.

It's still running, but Yurikuma Arashi is by the guy behind Utena and Penguindrum
The Monogatari series is probably worth checking out as well. And maybe Mononoke
I'll second both of Hylarn's recs. With those series and that list of traits, Yuri Kuma Arashi and Monogatari are pretty much exactly what you're looking for.
This may be a bit of a nonstandard request, but I need anime that have good Spanish dubs (Spaniard vs Lat Am doesn't matter). Only restrictions are non-comedy, preferably not slice of life, lesser fanservice the better, and good writing.
It doesn't matter if I've already seen it before; in fact, it would probably help me if I've seen it before. Stuff I've seen and liked include Bebop, Eva, Eureka Seven, FMA (both series), Attack on Titan, Ghost in the Shell (although I can barely keep up with the English as is, God forbid a language I'm learning), Eden of the East, anything Studio Ghibli, etc.
The Spanish dub is the important thing.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyHoly shit I was just recently joking that Spanish dubs are the best language to watch anime in.
Unfortunately, I don't know what Spanish dubs there are. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I was disappointed that El Cazador de la Bruja doesn't have a Spanish dub.
Could really use a feel-good comedy manga right now. Pretty much anything will do.
Working or Nozaki-kun are good. I can think of other comedy manga but they're generally not as goofy as those two.
Can't you just watch them online?
