Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. All the examples I brought up Fight [1] in a suit (some only fight in said suits like the Turks or Takamichi.)
Not just Badass in a Nice Suit.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Okay, badass who fights in formalwear fitting his culture, the author/creator's culture, or the one that the work is set in.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. If you want to make a supertrope, YKTTW is the place to go. I certainly have no objections.
The trope as it stands is explicitly broader than just fighters or killers, though. Bodyguards, tough guys, just general badasses all qualify. Yes, many will be fighters, but it's not a requirement of the trope, so putting "combat" or "killer" in the title is misleading.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. That works too I guess. but it seems rather iffy
Still that's not specific to the west, as both types have been imported to Eastern culture and are treated the same [1][2]. Look at Salary Man.
An actual Kimono (Not a Yukata) is treated differently in modern works.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I think we're getting confused with a three way conversation. I'm not sure if you were addressing me or Marq.
The trope is not about fighting. It explicitly says that it includes MIBs, Corrupt Corporate Executives and Amoral Attorneys (along with Career Killers and yakuza/mafiosa).
edit: you edited your post as I was editing mine; I think we're pretty much in agreement now.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.FFS I give up.... WTB a quote button (Iphones suck)...
Badass in a Nice Suit or something like it works for it, Suited For Combat might be Same But More Specific but not all are.
Also its not specifically a Business Suit though. The trope itself says "See also Tuxedo and Martini, which turn this Up To Eleven," which is a Tux plus the James Bond like act.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Badass in a Nice Suit is great, describes the trope perfectly. I agree that business suit is probably too narrow; I only added that because we had a dozen suggestions all in the red, none green, and I was running out of ideas. :)

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. The voting throughout has suggested that many people aren't understanding the issues with the name, so I've added some text to the crowner that should help make things a little more clear. I'm hoping this will help drive-by voters understand the issue before they vote.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Bump for more votes. (Please read the at issue section of the crowner, thanks.)
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Gah, the only option in the green has gone down now. If you have a problem with the only suggestion that has anything resembling support, can you articulate it, and maybe offer a reasonable alternative that you would prefer, please?
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. And back up to 2:1. The current standings: +3 (yeas:6 nays:3) 2.00 : 1 for Badass in a Nice Suit, about 20 other proposals all in the red. I'm inclined to give it one more day because of the recent wobble, but with nothing else even approaching consensus, and nobody suggesting anything new, I think we're almost done here.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Now at +4 (yeas:8 nays:4) 2.00 : 1
One more yea, one more nay. I'm not sure what the people voting nay expect to happen since there's no other options in the green, and nobody has suggested there's anything wrong with the top choice or offered a likely alternative, but I'll leave this going for now, unless a mod decides this is enough misery. :)

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Another day, no new votes, I'm calling for the crowner to be locked, then I'll start the rename.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee....a-a-and one more nay vote, but there's still only one option in the green, voting is at a trickle, it was already decided to rename this, there's only one name proposed that has any level of positive support, nobody is proposing anything new, and this has been going on for a month. The top choice is clearly better than the current title and if we really want something else later, we can try again in a few months.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Another day, we're back to +4. Note that we don't need 2/3 to pick a name, since we already got a supermajority in favor of a rename. No mod responded to my call last time, and I'm not sure if it's because the mod who looked disagreed that this is done, or if it simply got overlooked. This seems like it's about as settled as it's going to get though. Am I right?
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Alright, I'll say we can renamed this one. Locking crowner.
Everything except the discussion pages and troper tales have been moved (waiting on a mod for those). Fixing wicks is going well; with some help from others, it's over 1/3 done already.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Well, discussion has been moved, and I'm not seeing a TT link on the old page.
I assume we want to keep Dressed to Kill as a redirect?
Absolutely, lots of incoming links.
edit: I don't know what happened to the troper tales page, but it was empty, so I'm not too concerned about it.

Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Probably something to do with the whole Troper Tales sub-wiki getting axed.
Wow, thanks to a lot of help, the wicks are done. This can be locked.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
In fact, one of the reasons the current name is bad is because it suggests that this is how people dress to kill, which is a western-centric viewpoint. But the trope itself isn't about that. Its not about killers (or combat) at all! It's about badasses wearing a western-style business suit. Which is, as Raso points out, a common trope all over the globe.
Side note, since its still in the running: Suited For Combat is both wrong, since the trope isn't about combat or violence, and misleading, since it suggests a military uniform (or power armor) rather than a business suit.
