I have never bothered with the Garrus, Thane, Jacob, and Tali romances.
I've only really had one playthrough, with the Tali romance. I've seen bits from the Jacob, Miranda, and Garrus romances.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.With the Thane romance, it was the scene in the cabin that really made me hate it. Even more, it was, "Be alive with me tonight." Such a stupid line. It was the kind of shitty line you'd expect in a romantic plot, meant to be all deep and meaningful while actually being unbearably cheesy.
The Garrus romance was OK. Jacob's was . . . Jacob's. I liked Tali's a lot. Miranda's was pretty good. Jack's, from what I saw on You Tube, is pretty decent.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.I'd argue that the cheesiness is the charm in Bio Ware romances.
It's why Jacob's is the best in the entire series.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Heavy Risk. But the prize...
So for better or worse, I guess anybody wanting to romance a dude in 2 is in for cheesiness?
No if you romance Tali it's pretty cheesy too. But she's popular, so it's ok.
All of the romances are cheesy. Tali, Jacob, Miranda, Thane, Jack, Garrus, Ashley, Kaidan, Liara, Cotez, Traynor...
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."What's with the trollpost?
Yes, I am the guy who refused to call Magikarp Power "not worth the effort"Don't know, it was here when I posted before. But anyway, the slight cheesiness in the Mass Effect romances is what makes them work, we're all agreed on that, right?
Pretty much, but Jacob and arguably Thane are good examples of the limits of such cheesiness, pushing something from Narm Charm to Narm.
...Thane's is more Narm Charm, but it makes sense given how he views his body as a tool and how he never really "woke up" or lived until he met his first wife. The main problem with the Thane romance is that it doesn't get enough time to develop properly like Garrus' did.
My biggest problem with Garrus's romance is that it came off kinda creepy.
- GARRUS: Interspecies what? That's...weird....
- SHEPARD: Do it.
- GARRUS: I mean how do you even...that just seems bizarre.
- SHEPARD: Do it.
- GARRUS: It's weird and awkward and uncomfortable!
- SHEPARD: DO IT.
- GARRUS: Fine, I'll do it, you creepy weirdo!
You accidentally wrote "it" instead of "me" and "you."
It's more like
"That's weird. But I am slightly aroused by this weirdness."
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Oh, please. Garrusmance has nothing on Vegamance when it comes to creepiness.
Femshep: As your commanding officer, I order you to do me.
James: I need an adult!
[later]
Femshep: Have some more drinks. Are you ready for sex yet?
James: ...Kinda?
[next morning]
James: Did I just do that? Let Us Never Speak of This Again.
Femshep: Haha, now make me some eggs.

I found Vega's flirting creepy.
Vega in general annoyed and pissed me off, aside from the glorious STEEEEVE! bromance. He got better later on, then lost all progress after the rewardless pull-up challange on Citadel.
Javik romance is best romance.

...Vega and Kaiden are tied for my favorite squadmates.
My favorites are Tali, Garrus, Javik, James, and Mordin.
...Javik and Kasumi for me.
I have too many favourites to list them. I don't have a favourite human squadmate, though, they all have their advantages and disadvantages.
No? This isn't a term paper. I'm just stating what I've observed.
