Star Driver Kagayaki no Takuto

Well, in RahXephon it did, eventually.

The World of Star Driver, an interview with director Igarashi Takuya and writer Enokido Yoji.

• The anime is intended to be a "School Robot Anime."
• Magical Girl : Girls :: Giant Robot : Boys
• The Glittering Crux Brigade are trying to bring the Cybodys to the real world.
• Nobody is going to die.

Are those last two things spoilers for the first episode, or later on?

If this is a mecha anime done in the style of a magical girl anime, does that make it the anti-Nanoha?

^ Later on spoilers. Pretty general stuff (ie: broad motivation of Evil Masked People), but the lower one might kill suspense.

As for Nanoha: Depends. How much gratuitous manservice will we get?

Jumping in here to say that I don't find Takuto all that attractive. Bishonen, yes, but I don't really like him that much.

Yet.

I dunno, I guess I was expecting a more exciting episode, and I was left....confused. And I'm definitely not seeing as much fabulousness as people seem to say there is...

But my opinions will probably change later on. :P

I believe a liveblog is in order.

Finally got around to seeing the first episode of this. There are two things that stuck out in my mind.

• The Meido with the bunny ears. Why did she have bunny ears? Is this just a normal thing at whatever Elaborate University High the kids attend, or is she an alien who went through the whole awkward visitor phase already?
• That the evil Glittering Cross people refer to the "GINGA BISHOUNEN" as a serious threat without any irony in their voices.

Having said that, I enjoyed the first episode a lot more than I thought I would.

^ The bunny ears are fake (as shown by this model sheet/character art for the meido girls). Sugata probably just makes her wear them for the same reason he's making them wear the maid outfits

I'd totally do that if I had enough dots in Resources

....I'm still not sure what I watched. It was all erased from my mind by that mech's fabulous hips.

Is this a show I can use to get normal girls to watch anime?

^ Probably not: It kinda banks on you being familiar with Super Robot and Magical Girl shows. It's more of the type of show directed at the sort of people who go, "wouldn't it be totally fucked up (and awesome) if we mixed Sailor Moon with G Gundam and threw a bunch of money at it to make it look really, really pretty?"

You know, people like me.

Code Geass, you've got competition.

Just watched the first episode. I was on the fence about it, but this seems like one of the rare mecha anime I'm going to watch. Oh Mamoru, I was so focused on his upcoming Pokémon role I didn't notice he was going to be the lead here.

MY GOD THEY ARE DRSSED SO SHARLY THEY WILL CUT THEMSELVES!

@Raw: I've always found Macross Frontier to be an excellent introductory show for neophyte anime fans. The girls in my corridor at university loved it.

But that's getting off-topic, so if you want to continue that line, take it to the recommendations thread.

Hopefully this gets brought over to the States...

I think we have a contender for the biggest thing that has Camp in it. Robot Unicorn Attack is the other contender.

Oh god, Erasure and this series would work PERFECTLY!

Fabulous does not even come close to describing the actions in this anime.

The OP's a bit weird - feels far more like an ED, to be honest.

I must say, they really do seem to be setting up an OT3 here.
