Apparently 'wolf' comes from a variant of the PIE word for 'dangerous'.

And words seemed to change rather oddly back in the PIE days. Like the Germanic languages tossed the word for fox (Wlop) out the window in favor of tailed one (Puksos->Fuhsaz), and then they tossed out the word for tail (Puk) and replaced it with the word for a tail-hair (Dok->Tagla).

I've been mentally pronouncing the word "falchion" wrong.

I will probably continue intentionally getting it wrong because I think "falshion" sounds cooler than "falkion."

Apparently 'wolf' comes from a variant of the PIE word for 'dangerous'.

Today, I noticed that 'Proto-Indo-European' can be abbreviated as 'PIE'.

In Super Smash Bros. 4, the "Congratulations!" font at the end of the credits sequence changes based on who you were using. Mario series and spin-off characters use the "Mario Font", realistic characters (Zelda, Fire Emblem, etc.) use a serif font, and everyone else uses a sans-serif font.

The "guaranteed kill" RPG blast radius in Battlefield 3 is 75 cm.

Since I hardly ever run into any vulnerable jeeps or the likes, launching rockets at potential environmental hazards is my best option, asides from going full Team Fortress.

I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiot

Lisbon is the capital of Portugal.

Ah. I used to think that it was just a major city, like what New York or San Francisco is to U.S.

There are Lisbons in twelve US states, and two in each of Ohio and Washington.

Also learnt there is a Yolo County in California. Which used to have a Lisbon which was renamed Arcade.

Today on Pottermore, I've learned that:

  1. Florean Fortescue, the owner of the ice cream parlor, is the descendant of an ex-Headmaster. He knows a lot about magical artifacts. He would've been the one to tell Harry the whereabouts of the Horcruxes, which is why Voldemort kidnapped the parlor owner. However, JK scrapped this idea because she felt that Phineas Nigellus would be a better character to give clues to Harry.

  2. Why are cauldrons easy to carry around when they're made of pewter or iron? Because magic. Also, a cauldron would've been one of the Horcruxes.

  3. No, a Muggle like you can't brew a potion, because you need a magic wand to provide it with its magical properties.

  4. There was going to be a vampire professor in Hogwarts.

There's a particular golf course near London, and I had no idea it's relatively easy for me to get a hole-in-one on a particular par 4 hole, in part because I have the power needed to each most of them.

And I also never knew until now that I could get a hole-in-one like that.
